Using MO to Describe Jazz Discography Data

Hello,

My name is Bill Levay and I work on the Linked Jazz Project (http://linkedjazz.org) out of Pratt Institute's School of Information and Library Science.

I'm diving into the MO to figure out how best to transform traditional session-based jazz discography data into linked data.

If anyone has experience with this kind of work, or any advice in general in using the MO to describe somewhat complex performances (including which musicians played which instruments on which performances during a recording session), I'd love to speak with you.

Hi Bill,

Sorry for the delay - the JSON-LD example you provided is already looking very good! As you've done there, the way to describe such musician/instrument associations in MO is through sub_events.

About your last comment in that file, you could just use http://musicontology.com/specification/#term-track to link the record to the track.
