The City of Wollongong is a community Brass Band which hosts senior junior and learners brass bands together with senior and junior wind bands. It is in the process of expanding the organisation to also include a mid-week day-time brass band for retired community brass players and a trainee musical director program for its junior members.
Our Organisation is seeking a Musical Director for its Senior Brass Band which rehearses on Friday nights between 7:30pm and 9:30 pm.
You will be working in a team environment using demonstrated conducting ability together with excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills to all ages to encourage and mentor your band to achieve best performance by your band and best playing ability from your players.
Your band will perform 2 concerts per year, compete at the Band Association of NSW State contest each year, and perform at various community playouts which are shared amongst all our bands.
The successful applicant will also act as Deputy Musical Director for our other Musical Directors, be require to be ‘Working with Children’ compliant, will be subject to the Band’s Constitution and By-Laws, and must abide by the BAND’s Constitution and By-Laws.
Applicants will be required to audition with their prospective Band.
