Profile of Shankaranarayanan B R
Vocalist focused more on Sri. Koteeswarier’s kritis, vivadi ragas,
kalpanaswara
rendering and theoretical aspects of South Indian Music.
Disciple of Sangeetha Kala Acharya Sri. S. Rajam.
A keyboard player focused on playing Carnatic music in a fusion perspective.
Has performed extensively on the keyboard with Ghatam Maestro Sri. Vikku
Vinayakram as a member of his fusion team named Swara-laya mela.
Composed a Fusion album titled ‘East of Salzburg’ which was produced and
released by HMV. Other co-composers were Violin Murari and TRV.
Produced an album titled ‘Melody in Harmony’, performed by the disciples of
Sangeetha Kala Acharya Smt. Seetha Rajan. The album was released by
‘Amudham’.
Played a key role in the arrangements for the album titled ‘Geethaamudham’,
conducted by Sri. S.Rajam. The album comprises the songs composed by Sri.
Koteeswaraiyer (apart from his 72 Melakartha compositions).
Has assisted his Guru in musical lecture demonstrations.
Is a Mechanical Engg and was with TVS Sundaram Clayton as Member R&D.
Is a technical trader and currently serving as Wealth Manager for a family
office.
Recently composed a music album for 'Samskrita Bharati', an
organisation based in
Delhi focusing on Spoken Sanskrit. Sri. Shankar Mahadevan, Smt.
Sujatha, Sri. Madhu
Balakrishnan, Smt. Aruna Sairam, Smt. Harini, Shri. Ramesh Vinayakam,
Smt. Kalpana
Raghavendra, Smt. Visalakshi Shankar have offered the songs in the
album. The album is
planned to be released by July 2012.
