Raffle winners, acknowledgements and more at Obamarama

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported any or all five Obamarama shows. There were so many highlights I can’t list them all here, but a few were:

    Georgia Middleman, Angela Kaset and Sarah Majors broke out their political songs during round 2 at the 12th & Porter show, and invited Steve Goodie to come sing his song “Nailin Sarah Palin”-- a video of the latter is here:

    Beth Nielsen Chapman showed up at the Basement Show and sat in to sing harmony with Don Henry on his song about Martin Luther King “Beautiful Fool”. Then Obama staffer Paul Stovall knocked everyone out singing “Only Love” with Marcus Hummon.

    Hal Ketchum saved the Bluebird show by sitting in for the ailing JD Souther. Apparently he had fun, because afterward Hal signed up for our show on 10/23! At that show Bill Lloyd sat in to sing a Foster & Lloyd song with Radney Foster and re-created their magic.

    The debate viewing party at Edgehill was the best party in town, packed with jeering and cheering Obama supporters.

    Three people won the raffle and will soon meet with Beth Nielsen Chapman for their song critiques: John Stoecker, Tori Petty, Jessica Conway.

We made several thousand dollars for Obama for America at the shows (we’re waiting on the check from the Bluebird for the exact figure)— thank you everyone who came out to the shows and donated! Thank you to all of the awesome artists!
