Hi Music City For Change members -

Ed Petterson of Music Row Democrats (who has major music connections) needed the change the silent auction meeting time to 4:30pm, so I'm sorry for any confusion.

David Shankle of Nashville Loves Barack Obama will try his best to be there also.

Below is the meeting info and the agenda.

MEETING INFO

Sun, July 27th 4:30pm (not 2:30pm)
Fido Coffeeshop
1812 21st Ave S, Nashville, TN 37212

(615) 777-FIDO

FYI - I will plan to be at FIDO with a Music City for Obama sign at 2pm to catch anyone who didn't get the new time.

AGENDA

1. EVENT DATE -  either the 2nd or 3rd weekend of September (possibly UN International Peace Day September 21st).

2. VENUE - Vanderbilt (1st choice), Belmont (2nd choice) or ______?

3. CO-CHAIR - We're seeking a co-chair for the silent auction committee to help with:
- silent auction venue
- getting donations from local restaurants/catering companies
- getting printing donated from a printing company
- booking the music
- booking MC
- possibly being volunteer coordinator at the event

4. ONLINE AUCTION POSSIBILITIES - Please check before the meeting if you can

Their program handles EVERYTHING - online submission of donation items and descriptions, email invitations, ticket sales, credit card processing, bid sheets, item tracking, outcome reports, thank you letters, you name it + it's open to the public and they have over 80,000 registered bidders (ie. estimates of 200% + more profit than just live).

Their program handles EVERYTHING - except our auction would only be accessible to people who show up at the auction.

- If we do not do an online auction, we could lose out on tens of thousands of dollars for lack of $600 up front. (We should be able to find one or more donors to help out.)

5. VOLUNTEERS - We will need volunteers for
- committee members
- set-up/clean-up
- event registration table
- voter registration/Obama items table
- silent auction items monitoring/ushering
- food servers/prep
- computer techies (for laptops if we do the online auction)
- people to let us borrow their laptops (we'll get keyboard covers)
- stage hands
- stage manager
- musicians (possibly Emmy Lou Harris? - Ed will check)
- MC (Susan Anders knows of a possibility - thanks Susan!)
- publicity/marketing/media
- volunteer coordinator for the event
- possibly someone to be my personal gofer at the event (depending on how big it gets)

Ideally the funds raised would go to Obama TV, radio and print ads, mailers/brochures, and Obama items (lawn signs, stickers, buttons, T-shirts, etc.) which could potentially reach tens of thousands of new voters!

Your help would be VERY appreciated

Look forward to working with you and hearing all your ideas.

Please contact me with any suggestions, questions or potential connections.
