FREDERICKSBURG, Va. (7News) — The Fredericksburg Police Department is seeking public assistance in locating multiple people believed to be responsible for damaging and stealing an otter statue from the front of the James Monore Museum.
At approximately 11:30 p.m. on Friday, a group approached the statue of "Ohana the Otter" located in front of the James Monore Museum on Charles Street. Police said a male member of the group kicked the statue, damaging the rock while others in the group took videos.

Another group came by roughly an hour later, pulled the otter statue from the rock and left with it in the trunk of a sedan, police said.
Police can not confirm if the two groups were working together.
This is the second time an otter statue has been stolen. In 2022, "Adeline" the otter was stolen from her rock and later returned to police by a good samaritan who found the statue on a walk.
