3GPP MMS Videos transcoded to Quicktime don't play

Hi:

We finally (I believe) got the code working to save the videos in
MMSes.

Unfortunately it appears that the video is not playable. When I try to
open it
in QuickTime I get this error messsage:
"The movie could not be opened. The file is not a movie file"

Here's the video (which came from an MMS sent from the 604 345 3926
mobile muse blackberry):

It seems to me this could be caused by:
1. SIFT bug (unlikely since we just move the file and don't change it,
but hey it's software anything's possible)
2. CURL bug
3. Transcoding bug
4. Random act of nature / force majeure / etc :-) i..e. something
else!

Jim: could you please look into this and let me know if it's a SIFT
issue? I am available Thursday until 4p.m. over Skype to test this if
need be!

Hmmm.... curious.

I'm looking at the logs plus I'm saving the temporary files. I can play the
.mov file in QT that I produce.

I just sent in a video - named 'video3gpp2_2.mov'. I see it's size as
271901 and its csum as 48504. What do you get?

Roland,

I'm still plugging away on ffmpeg - but at this point, I still strip out the
audio stream.

That being said, I can't see my video on your SIFT web page. I see the name
of the video the and hyperlink. However clicking on it does no good (blank
space in screen).

Can you confirm that this is supposed to be working - or is the moving file
still screwed up.

just to summarize what i said in skype:
1. the video is there and plays fine
2. rss is fine, video is in enclosure so SAT should be fine
3. bug in theming i.e. html not displaying link - we are working on
this
