Our current funding will expire at the end of this month.  Though we remain optimistic about securing future funding, that path cannot be guaranteed at this point.  As a result, there are some services that the platform is currently providing that will be affected by the close of project on March 31.

Specifically, the MUSE project has been paying the costs associated with hosting some SIMs for use via SMS and MMS as well as some phone numbers for the VoiceXML service.  By the end of March will be unable to pay for those services.

Specifically, we have been paying for 4 DID #’s (phone numbers) to connect to our VoiceXML service.  We will keep only one of these active – specifically the shared service point for VoiceXML (604-628-8863).

Additionally, we have been hosting 5 SIM’s for SMS and MMS connectivity.  That number will drop to 2 at the end of April.

I want to make clear that the platform will remain in place and still be available for public usage.  A single shared longcode will be made available for all developers to use – as will a single DID # for VOiceXML service.

If you wish to have a dedicated longcode support SMS and/or MMS, then we will be happy to install and host that SIM for you exclusively.  Furthermore if you wish to have a dedicated VoiceXML DID number, that too can be arranged.  SIM’s generally cost about $50/month to run (although a pay as you go program may be appropriate for you as well.  I have no idea about the cost of pay as you go service).  A DID # for VoiceXML will cost $5USD/month to host.

Please let me (or this group) know if you would like to pay for these recurring charges and arrangements can be made to host your service in the platform.

Please also note that though MUSE will provide this service, you are still bound by the terms of usage of the platform.  Specifically your application must be for non-commercial purposes.   In other words, you shouldn’t be trying to run a business or product offering based on these services.

We will be de-activating the SIM’s shortly.  If anyone is interested in simply transferring these SIM accounts to another name, please let us know ASAP.
