Hi all:

There are 10 members on the dev mailing list. I received Jim's SMS/MMS
email yesterday through the group. Very informative, thanks!

Perhaps Jim you didn't receive the email because you have your
membership settings set to receive no email. I see that you two
addresses subscribed to the mailing list, one (symphonetics) set to
NOT receive email and one unverified email. If youe nable your email
for your symphonetics account or verify the other account, you'll get
emails from the group

And no automatic link gets created on the wiki

Wikis are only as good as the community and every community needs a
community manager
and the community manager for the MUSE 3 wiki is me.

I'll add an appropriate link to Jim's MMS/SMS page tonight.

Of course anybody else like Mike can add links and edit the wiki

That's the whole point of the wiki of course. We can all edit the wiki
(modify, add pages, delete pages) and change it to suit our needs as
we go along
unlike developers.mobilemuse.ca

and other static systems.

Jim's email from yesterday:
So yesterday I sent out an e-mail to what I believe to be our mailing
list for MUSE Developers – specifically: muse...@googlegroups.com.
I’m assuming someone gave me this address – since I can’t imagine
making it up myself.

The semi-curious thing is that I never received that e-mail message
(assuming of course that I’m a member of the group). Maybe the list
doesn’t bother to redistribute to senders? (but that seems a tad
unusual to me).

So I thought to be sure, I’d better post the same information on our
wiki.

Now I’ll confess to being a mere neophyte with wikis and frankly have
found them of little value in the past. However I then tried to post
the same information in the wiki.

Of course there appears to be infinite flexibility as to how new
information can be added. So I decided the cleanest was to create a
new page.

Well that process went quite painlessly. Except for the fact, the
page seemed to be created in a vacuum. In other words, I guess I
would have expected somewhere that a link to the new posting would
sort of automagically appear. I did find a link that let me list all
pages in the wiki – and sure enough it was there – but truly a lonely
orphan of a page with no connecting links.

So two questions:

1. Is anyone on the developers google group list?

2. Is anyone actually trying to use the wiki?

3. (I know I said only two questions)… could someone prescribe a
better process for posting to this wiki for me?

Left as an exercise for the reader: “What was the information I was
trying to communicate in my e-mail and my wiki entry?”

I got Jim's email yesterday.  So I assume it is working if it only got sent to the WIki!
