Dear Dormouse friends,
"our" Muscardinus already left the nest boxes. No more chances to collect ticks this year. Maybe some of you still have some animals. If not - there are only 16 weeks until the spring when there are new chances.
The following is message from Dania about the new project.
Best wishes
Sven
We appreciate all your positive responses to the idea of collecting and
analyzing ticks from dormice around the world, presented at the 8th
International Dormouse Conference in Sept 2011. As the chairman of the
session, Peter Adamik, suggested, we have prepared a protocol of how to
obtain and preserve ticks for this project. It is attached to this mail
which Sven Buechner kindly distributes to all participants of the 8th
IDC. A template for an Excel table in which you can list all required
information about the dormice and the ticks is also attached.
Thank you for your contributions. We look forward to an exciting project!
Best,
Dania
