Disconnection between file browser and buttons

Hi, and thanks to everyone who is making Murky!

I have a proposal for what I think would improve the UI. Currently,
two parts of the UI are:

1. The row of buttons at the top (View mode, Add, Remove, etc)
2. A file browser at the bottom left

It took me quite a while to understand some of the buttons, like "view
mode", affected the file browser, since they are so far apart. How
about moving the buttons that manipulate the file browser down to the
file browser itself?

I can see one downside of it: There will be less screen estate
available, since the top button row will remain the same size, and we
get a new button row. Perhaps someone here has a suggestion for fixing
that?
