Kia hiwa ra
Kia hiwa ra
Kia hiwa ra i tenei tuku
Kia hiwa ra i tera tuku

He aitua, he aitua
Kua hinga he wahine taniwha
Ka huri tona kanohi ki tua o te arai, ki te huinga o te kahurangi

No reira haere atu ra e te tuahine, haere

moenga e kore e hikitia
Moe mai ra, moe mai ra.

It is with profound sadness that we have to announce the tragic loss
of
Jacqui Ngapera, a senior manager of the Crown Forestry Rental
Trust this weekend.

Jacqui Ngapera was one of the country's foremost Treaty of Waitangi
settlement officials and was tragically taken in a diving accident
off
Wellington's Makara coast on Saturday.

Chief Executive Ben Dalton said Jacqui Ngapera, as a senior manager
at
the Trust, played a major role in assisting a wide range of claimants
who sought assistance to present and prepare their claims.

Jacqui began at the Trust 12 years ago. Her skills and attributes
eventually led to her managing the entire client services team which
she has successfully carried out since 2004.

Jacqui leaves an enormous gap in our organisation but her passing
will
also be met with deep sadness across the sector.

Ben Dalton said, "She was dedicated to her work with claimants and
was
often the last person to leave the office. On the eve of the tragic
diving accident she left the office at 8pm to prepare for the dive
that
would eventually claim her life."

"As a friend and a colleague we will all miss her immensely. Jacqui
had a wide network of claimants and Treaty sector friends and
colleagues who all will sorely miss her also."

"Jacqui was a passionate diver who had passed her advanced diving
certificate earlier this year.
Our immediate thoughts are with the young family that she leaves
behind
and we will be doing all we can to support them during this time."
