Hey guys!

I know that this newsletter has been a long time coming;
unfortunately, I'm not always working on projects that I can share
news about right away, and I can't always focus on writing stories to
share for free. I've been doing a lot of thinking about what this
newsletter should be, and hopefully I can give it more attention soon.
If you have any ideas or suggestions, please e-mail me at
johnny...@gmail.com! I'd love to hear them.

I do have something new to share with you, though. My essay, The
Disillusionment of a Young Gay Democrat (http://www.edenfantasys.com/
sexis/sex-and-society/obama-lgbt-112092/) went online today, and
focuses on what it felt like for me to realize that the hope I placed
on Barack Obama may have been based on empty words.

I wrote the essay a few weeks ago and several new things have happened
since then. Unforutnately, none of them are all that good. The Obama
Administration more or less sat out the elections that happened back
on November 3rd, and their apathy may have cost us gay marriage in
Maine. Even today, news is unfolding that the White House may have
worked to suppress a video of Domestic Policy Adviser Melody Barnes
expressing support for gay marriage (http://gay.americablog.com/
2009/11/white-house-temporarily-censored-pro.html).

I hope you guys enjoy the essay. Be sure to let me know what you
think.

In other news, I'm in the middle of a handful of different projects.
I'm currently working on a Science Fiction Romance novella (no,
really!), and it looks like my comic book, Crash Course, will be
wrapped up soon. I've been working on the book for so long, with the
help of my talented artist and friend Woody and our colorist Lizz, and
I can't wait to share it with you. As it nears its release date, you
can look forward to some more news about it and possibly a few extras
unavailable elsewhere.

I hope everyone's well!

Thanks,
Johnny
