Help cant get gamecube controller to work

Ok so im using the wii u gamecube adapter and I have the proper drivers necessary to make it work (zadig, the GCN driver). I was able to make a gamepad profile and map the buttons to the respective N64 functions, but for some reason it doesnt actually work in the emulator. Cant find a fix, came here as last resort. Plz help

Did you follow the instructions on this page?

Did you edit the InputAutoCfg.ini or the mupen64plus.cfg file?

Finally, post the output of the terminal when you run the emulator. It's
probably telling you what's wrong.
