Cheat system for mupen64plus

Hello,

I downloaded mupen64plus (the latest version) on my Mac, opened it as the readme instructed by using Terminal, and am curious how to take advantage of the cheat function and enter gameshark codes. I'm definitely not as savvy as you or familiar with the inner workings of such a game, but would love to play goldeneye with some cheats!  I have the Goldeneye ROM. Thank you for any help!

Hi Dennis,

To get a list of the cheat codes, you can run it like this:

./run_rice.sh --cheats list /path/to/GoldenEye007.z64

It will give you a list like this:

UI-Console: 19 cheat code(s) found for ROM 'Goldeneye 007 (U)'
UI-Console:    0: Enable All Levels & In-Built Cheat Menu
UI-Console:    1: Always Have 00:00 Time (All Levels)
UI-Console:    2: Infinite Ammo (All Levels)
UI-Console:    3: Bulletproof Bond
UI-Console:    4: Weak Enemies
UI-Console:    5: Walk through doors, objects
UI-Console:    6: Enable All Levels
UI-Console:    7: All Objectives Complete
UI-Console:    8: Gain Access\To Aztec Level Without Beating Secret Agent Or 00 Agent
UI-Console:    9: Gain Access\To Egyptian Level Without Beating Secret Agent Or 00 Agent
UI-Console:    10: Infinite Health Player 1 (all levels)
UI-Console:    11: Cradle in multiplayer (Puts the cradle graphic in the levels screen where the facility normally is in the multiplayer levels screen.Warning it doesn't allow you to enter the multiplayer levels screen,it should automatically have selected cradle, which cannot be changed from the multiplayer menus)
UI-Console:    12: Custom Weapon Grouping (golden gun fun should replace slappers only! appears in the multi weapons.)
UI-Console:    13: Facility Back Zone In Multiplayer\Part 1\2 players (All parts must be on for this code to work.this cheat allows you to play the Facility Back Zone In Multiplayer)
UI-Console:    14: Facility Back Zone In Multiplayer\Part 2\2 players (All parts must be on for this code to work.this cheat allows you to play the Facility Back Zone In Multiplayer)
UI-Console:    15: Facility Back Zone In Multiplayer\Part 3\2 players (All parts must be on for this code to work.this cheat allows you to play the Facility Back Zone In Multiplayer)
UI-Console:    16: All 64 Characters In Multi Player
UI-Console:    17: Secret Island on Dam Level (For the above code to work,Get to the 2nd guard tower & go down the ladder on the left hand side & to the end of the Dock, Press L & GS and you will be transfered in the water. Just keep walking straight & you will get to it. Obviously you can't actually climb ladders or anything, you will simply walkthrough anything on that Part, if you want to walk back to the Dock, when you come near it click the cheat back on & keep pressing  L & GS untill you are back on it.)
UI-Console:    18: Replace Cradle with Citadell hidden level

Then to activate a cheat, run it like this (example for infinite ammo):

./run_rice.sh --cheats 2 /path/to/GoldenEye007.z64

Can I add new cheats to a game like for example, Super Mario 64 I wanna add this cheat

 

Freeze/unfreeze the camera

This will work for any level; press camera-right button to stop the camera from moving and then camera-left to get it moving again.

Yes, you should be able to add this code. Just edit the "mupencheat.txt" file
and add your new code to the game under the title "SUPER MARIO 64".

Hi, I also just downloaded the latest version and wanted to get all 120 stars in SM64, but whenever I click the enable option and go back, it just doesn't happen. I also don't have a "Add Cheat" button because it just came with pre-made cheats.
