I'm a linux newbie and i wanted to try out Mupen64plus to play sm64 with a gamecube controller (Mayflash adapter)

Everything works fine, the only issue i have is with the button mapping, i can't find the configuration file, which, as stated in many other posts, should be either in /usr/local/share/mupen64plus or /usr/share/mupen64plus.
I tried to use the find and whereis command, with no success. i just can't find where it is.

Thanks for your help

Hi Sylvain!

Welcome on linux and mupen64plus! :)

This doesn't solve the global problem but should solve your:

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/mupen64plus/mupen64plus-input-sdl/master/data/InputAutoCfg.ini

Tell me if it work with your pad. Don't hesitate to modify it and send
an updated version with your pad. :)

Good luck!

Did you install mupen64plus from a repository or download and extract it? If it's running inside its own folder rather than from the standard path, the inputautocfg should also be inside that folder.

The following needs to go in mupen64plus.cfg
[Input-SDL-Control1]

# SDL joystick name (or Keyboard)
name = "MAYFLASH GameCube Controller Adapter"
# Specifies whether this controller is 'plugged in' to the simulated N64
plugged = True
# Specifies which type of expansion pak is in the controller: 1=None, 2=Mem pak, 5=Rumble pak
plugin = 2
# If True, then mouse buttons may be used with this controller
mouse = False
# Scaling factor for mouse movements.  For X, Y axes.
MouseSensitivity = "2.00,2.00"
# The minimum absolute value of the SDL analog joystick axis to move the N64 controller axis value from 0.  For X, Y axes.
AnalogDeadzone = "128,128"
# An absolute value of the SDL joystick axis >= AnalogPeak will saturate the N64 controller axis value (at 80).  For X, Y axes. For each axis, this must be greater than the corresponding AnalogDeadzone value
AnalogPeak = "28000,28000"
# Digital button configuration mappings

DPad D = ""
DPad U = ""
