Hi everyone,
I am a developer and a huge fan of Hacktarux's original work on Mupen64. I am currently forming a new development team to work on a Nintendo DS emulator project.
We would like to name our group "Hacktarux Team" or "Hacktarux Legacy" as a tribute to his contributions to the scene. Since Hacktarux has been away from the public eye for a while, I wanted to ask here if anyone is still in contact with him or if the community thinks this is an appropriate way to honor his legacy.
We want to make sure we are being respectful of his identity while carrying on the spirit of open-source emulation development.
Best regards,
Vladimir

Hello Vladimir,

I don't think any of the current Mupen64Plus developers have had any recent contact with Hacktarux. I don't think he has released any software in the last 20 years in fact; that's why I forked Mupen64 and started this project.

There is an interview with him from 2005 where he mentions working with Gonetz, and I believe Gonetz is still active in the N64 scene, so you might try and get in contact with him.

Richard
