Any way to convert/import Project64 saves/save states to Mupen64Plus?

So, I've been using Project64 in Wineskin on my Mac but, Mupen64Plus performs a bit better. I was wondering if there was any way to convert the Project64 save file for Doubutsu no Mori that I have to the Mupen64Plus format?  Or even load the Project64 save state into Mupen64Plus?

Mupen64Plus does support loading PJ64 savestates.  Just use the "--savestate" option and provide the path to the PJ64 savestate file.
