mupen64plus on Sonoma 14.4.1

Hi everyone, I installed mupen64plus 2.5.9 on my macbook pro with Sonoma 14.4.1. 

When I run it like this: /Applications/mupen64plus /<Path>/<file>.z64 I get a completely distorted screen. 

But if I use Openemu which has mupen64plus 2.5.9 inside everything works correctly. What's different? How can I launch it the same way as openemu from command line?

Perhaps you are using a different video plugin? I haven't tried to run
mupen64plus on a mac in quite a while, but I do have a macbook pro with 10.15
and a mac pro with macos 12 that I could try it on.

I used the default. How do I change video plugin?
