From this album, we have selected two of its finest tracks to be reissued for the first time on 7-inch format. On 'Mi chico favorito,' Susana Estrada's sensual voice rides over a musical backing clearly inspired by 'Good Times' by Chic, likely via 'Rapper's Delight' by The Sugarhill Gang, making it just as irresistible. On the B-side, we release 'Quítate el sostén!' as a single for the first time-a funky disco-rap anthem packed with feminist statements. SOMETIMES MUSIC | OTROSHAKERS - A LOS SHAKERS By 1981, Hugo Fattoruso, a Uruguayan musician, had already built a remarkable career, beginning with the Trío Fattoruso and later forming the Beatles-inspired band Los Shakers, whose 1968 album became a psychedelic classic. In the 1970s he moved to the United States with his brother Osvaldo and collaborated with Brazilian artists Airto Moreira and Flora Purim. Together they created the trio Opa, blending candombe with jazz-rock and releasing two influential albums in 1976 and 1977. After difficulties in the U.S., they returned to the Río de la Plata region, performed with Milton Nascimento, and recorded the album A Los Shakers (1981) under the name Otroshakers. The album, highly praised but long unavailable on vinyl, was later reissued with remastering, photos, lyrics, and notes celebrating its lasting musical impact. | | |

And how apt that Epic himself, the great archivist of the overlooked, should find himself configured in this way. I met Epic Soundtracks once. A mutual acquaintance introduced us as he crossed the road by Camden Market in the Summer of 1995, two years before he died, aged 38, in the Hampstead basement flat where some of these tracks would have been written. I didn't have time to tell Epic I loved his records, and that, as a teenager, I used to deliver newspapers to his parents' home on Widney Lane in the leafy Birmingham suburb of Solihull, long after he had left. Now I live five hundred yards from the Hackney house Epic and his brother Adrian, The Swell Maps' Nikki Sudden, shared when they arrived in punk rock London. HISS AND SHAKE | ESSENTIAL LOGIC - EXTENDED PLAY - VOL I & VOL II (COLOR) RSD 20 Lora Logic was unexpectedly ousted from her first band X-Ray Spex before the recording of their debut studio album 'Germ Free Adolescents' in 1977. Undeterred, Lora went on to form and front the post-punk band Essential Logic. With trademark angular sax lines and her unmistakable vocal stylings, she went on to create some of the most liberating and exciting music of the early post-punk era, not only as Essential Logic, but also as a solo artist and as the go to sax moonlighter for other artists, including: the Stranglers, the Raincoats, Swell Maps and Red Crayola amongst others before her departure from the music industry in 1983. Lora would return from her musical hiatus in 1996 for the recording of the X-Ray Spex sophomore album 'Conscious Consumer' before taking a further leave of absence until 2021 when she returned to the studio to collaborate with fellow punk pioneers including Martin Muscatt, Dave Farren (Bad Manners) and Gary Valentine (Blondie) for the recording of what would become two new Essential Logic EP's. Released in the dawn of a new technological era the recordings found a limited release via CD mailorder and early streaming sites before their inclusion on the 2003 Kill Rockstars compilation 'Fanfare in the Garden' CD release, solidifying the tracks significance as fan favourites amongst her earlier works. Essential Logic returned in 2022 with the new studio album 'Land of Kali' and remix album 'Rekalibrated' in 2024. This release presents both EP's 1 & 2 in their entirety and original sequence, remastered and available for the first time as a standalone vinyl release on Neon 'Barbie Be Happy' Pink vinyl.
