7" comes backed with the original b/side -I-m Celebrating- and a homage
version of the original French 7@ sleeve along with the DG -tribute- to the
classic Bell
records label from the -70s. This is the
black vinyl 7".

Dennis Alcapone was one of the first sound system deejays to rise to
island/wide prominence, following the incredible success of U Roy's fluid toasting
style, which took Jamaica
by storm during the late 1960s. Alcapone, who was born Dennis Smith in the
country town of Culloden in Westmoreland, southwestern Jamaica, first made an
impact on a sound system called El Paso, based in the rough/n/ready west
Kingston district of Waltham Park. Initial recordings for Keith Hudson were
strictly underground, but an album for Studio One and popular work for Duke
Reid significantly boosted his profile. Dennis Alcapone worked closely with
hitmaking producer Bunny triker' Lee from the early 1970s, establishing a
friendship that has lasted to the present day< Investigator Rock, which
dates from 1977, sees the toaster riding Striker's rockers/styled hits,
voiced by the likes of Cornell Campbell, John Holt, and Johnny Clarke.

Most of the tracks reissued here for the first time. Remastered sound from
original 45's. Liner notes and sessionography by expert Fred Rothwell. The
contribution of Mickey Baker to 1950s music puts him next to titans like Bo
Diddley and Chuck Berry. He is undoubtedly the king of 50s R&B guitar as
well as an inventor of the sound called rock and roll. The difference between
these two and Baker is that his career has been unfairly undervalued, if not
almost unknown. And his recorded output is FIVE times more than Chuck and Bo
combined. The most in-demand studio musician/session guitarist par excellence
during the golden years of the R&B laid the foundation for rock and roll.
This tireless hard working musician spent half his life in the studio and the
other half on tour and left his mark on hundreds, thousands of recordings,
among which are hits from artists like Big Joe Turner, Ruth Brown or the
Coasters. His incendiary riffs and solos were always aggressive, twisted but
elegant sounding. Baker possessed creativity ahead of his time with excellent
taste, and completely transformed the concept and role of the electric guitar
into rock and roll forever. But don't panic. This is far from being an album
for guitarists or academics. It is a selection of rare recordings that showcase
him backing various singers and a few instrumentals easily moving through
styles of R&B, blues, rock, gospel and folk done for different labels
between 1953 and 1961. We are happy to present this diverse compilation with
stunning sound quality and much of the material never before reissued. And we

Minneapolis&St. Paul, May 1960> a young Bob Dylan, still known as
Robert Zimmerman and not yet even 19 years old, decides to drop out of
college to move to New York City and pursue a career in folk music. That same
month he plays a small gathering at Karen Wallace-s apartment in St. Paul / Karen-s
sister, Terri, was an early fan and supporter of Dylan-s / mostly covering
American folk and blues standards, which he-d become obsessed with since
starting at the University. Still a few years before his self/titled debut,
this tape is one of the earliest documents of early Dylan, and since Karen
Wallace attempted to sell the tape for $10,000 in the 1970s and subsequently
disappeared along with the tape, its life is another great story in the
history of Bob Dylan, one of the most enigmatic and idiosyncratic celebrities

between 2016 and 2017 in
her home studio in West Auckland,
New Zealand.
The Loneliest Girl examines the loneliness and ultimately the artistic
satisfaction a strong work ethic can bring, the result of which is this
eclectic collection of pop songs. As a studio based artist Chelsea was conscious of not wanting to
fall too deep into a production hole for her third album and wanted to more
than ever before capture moments of inspiration, madness and spontaneity on
record. Chelsea-s trademark arrangements featuring classic 80s Synths (Yamaha
DX7, Roland D/50), ambient guitars, and orchestral instruments are all here
but are presented in a more refined and simple manner than on her previous
releases. Stylistically The Loneliest Girl moves away the more uniform synth
sounds of The Great Cybernetic Depression to more eclectic territory similar
to her first release Lil- Golden Book and certainly sounds like a record made
by a lover of pop music across all genres from 60s girl groups to 80s power
ballads, and late 80s acid house to 90s pop. Like her earlier work, adult
issues are presented in a humorous and sometimes childlike manner, and this
juxtaposition rather than softening the blow makes jarring social commentary
hit harder.

Recorded in a new studio designed by Greg Hughes in Austin, TX,
Still Corners focused on a recording process that was as fluid and minimal as
possible. Using a variety of microphones both old and new the band recorded
and mixed this new set of songs in three months. Keeping everything fresh and
not over/thinking moved the album to the finish line faster than any album
Still Corners had written and recorded before

Dennis Alcapone was one of the first sound system deejays to rise to
island/wide prominence, following the incredible success of U Roy's fluid
toasting style, which took Jamaica
by storm during the late 1960s. Alcapone, who was born Dennis Smith in the
country town of Culloden in Westmoreland, southwestern Jamaica, first made an
impact on a sound system called El Paso, based in the rough/n/ready west
Kingston district of Waltham Park. Initial recordings for Keith Hudson were
strictly underground, but an album for Studio One and popular work for Duke
Reid significantly boosted his profile. Dennis Alcapone worked closely with
hitmaking producer Bunny triker' Lee from the early 1970s, establishing a
friendship that has lasted to the present day< Investigator Rock, which
dates from 1977, sees the toaster riding Striker's rockers/styled hits, voiced
by the likes of Cornell Campbell, John Holt, and Johnny Clarke.
