Adults return with a pocketful of seeds, an album that gathers two years of ideas, friendships and frustrations into a noisy, heartfelt whole. Mixing indie pop, shoegaze, emo, jangle and DIY punk, the South London quartet shape riffs, loops and overdubs into songs about growth, change, love and resistance, stitched together with long-time collaborator Rich Mandell. Where their debut was recorded in a single day, this one took three months across rooftops and warehouses, giving space for a more coherent sound while keeping the joy of loud amps and playful arrangements. Opener 'dead red' builds from a wiry synth into a surging wall of sound, while singles 'flag', 'crying' and 'patterns' showcase hooks that wrestle with capitalism, conflict and mortality. WRONG SPEED | Two decades after rumbling out of a warehouse basement between Oval and Camberwell with a tangle of wires and sci-fi synths, the band still sound like they're broadcasting from deep space. Liquids are the brainchild of Indiana's Mat Williams, (also known for his time playing in The Coneheads, Dagger, The Fritz, Guinea Kid, Scabs, and Pukeoid), melding catchy lo-fi garage punk with a manically fast energy and crazy-tight musical chops. LAVIDAESUNMUS | LONDON CLAY - PRIVATE VIEW There's undeniably a certain kind of environment conjured up by the music of London Clay: drab municipal housing schemes; concrete walkways; a parade of shops in a post-war suburb; an underpass running underneath a dual carriageway; decaying social housing stock; the shadows of new build blocks for young professionals falling across the ever changing landscape. When they sing "tarmac shimmers, no future plans" you can feel this sense of place pressing in on the songs, shaping the melodies like they're harmonising with the wind blowing through scaffolding sheets, the rhythms reflecting the sound of jackhammers and wrecking balls. This description perhaps makes their music sound somewhat uninviting, and whilst it is suffused with a certain amount of urban claustrophobia and late night paranoia, there's also a lightness of touch that illuminates the dark corners - the gentle tone of a human voice and memorable repeating keyboard motifs offsetting the industrial chug. And whilst you can locate this music on a broad spectrum of post-punk (that most malleable and co-opted of genre terms), particularly the sounds of early 1980s Sheffield, there's a more varied sonic palette at play than that might suggest. At various points as you listen to this record you can hear: the looped sound of a dot matrix printer as percussive texture; a delay-blasted guitar weaving in and out of arpeggiated synth bursts; a descending piano line that sounds like it's haunting the corridors of a deserted school hall; a cluster of distorted loops building to a crescendo that wouldn't sound out of place next to mid-period Autechre; the jacking drum machine intro to one track almost verging on acid house; the terms and conditions of a marketing offer repeated to the point of hypnotic trance. Despite any broad and subjective comparisons, this record is of course its own thing, an end result that is certainly more than the sum of its parts, the mood that is established unique to this band and these songs, the listener drawn inexorably into their world. Tracks rise and fall like the continuous destruction and reconstruction of the capital skyline, a mental map to locate the essence of London Clay. | Synth wave/Experim.pop

A tapestry of stories, moments, and conversations, the album explores how love and pain intertwine. Feelings that might seem at odds with each other, but co-exist simultaneously and need one another. SUNNY BASTARDS | OHL - DER JAPANFELDZUG - LIVE IN TOKIO (JAPAN EDITI 45 years after its founding, OHL Germany's most provocative and now longest-serving punk band (without interruption) is fulfilling a long-held dream: The band has been invited to the Land of the Rising Sun for eight shows. The band called their very first album "Heimatfront" (Home Front), thus making German punk history. So, what could be more fitting than to call the tour "The Japan Campaign," in the best OHL tradition? A live recording of the sweaty performance in Tokyo was made, which is now being released exclusively on vinyl as a collector's edition. 16 songs, raw, uncompromising, and authentic, as one would expect from OHL and their singer Deutsche W. The Japan Edition! | | | | | POTENTIAL THREAT - DEMAND AND ALTERNATIVE Potential Threat formed in Blackburn in 1981, the first real line up being Fos, Carl & Les Donnelly joined soon after and the band began rehearsals, drummers at this stage came and went on a weekly basis, below are 2 shots of the band in early rehearsals. Few gigs were played, the most legendary being a show at the 'Cats Whiskers Club' located in Burnley. This gig was absolute mayhem and saw the band being forced from the stage due to flying glasses and bottles. It wasn't long after Carl quit the band. 1982 saw the return of Potential Threat, this time fronted by Pauline on vocals, Fos on bass, Les on lead and Keith on drums. This line up saw the band release their debut 7" 'Whats So Great Britain'. A second single was planned but shortly before the band were due to record, the drummer left, a replacement drummer was brought in and the band went into 'Revolution Studio's' and made the recording which never got released, the recording of the 2nd single was captured on videotape however. 1984 saw more line up changes with Les and Keith departing and new members being recruited, these being Andy on bass and Shaun on drums, Fos now switching to lead and Pauline still doing vocals. This line up of the band signed to 'Cor' records and released their 2nd 7" titled 'Brainwashed'. However it wasn't long before even more line up changes. Finally at last after at least a dozen drummers and numerous guitarists the band finally got together a line up which lasted for 3 years. The band recorded their debut album "Demand An Alternative" on Conflicts 'Mortarhate' label and it was released in 1985. A second album was also recorded for release on the 'Mortarhate' label but this was never released. .1987 saw the band release a track 'Blood Money' on a split 7" E.P. put out by a German record label. ( Recordrom Records ) Shortly after the above label released the LP that had been recorded for 'Mortarhate' label a few years earlier, this LP was titled "Never Again". The last and most consistent line up of the group was Pauline on vocals, Fos on guitar, Langy on bass and Ersy on drums. From this last band line up 2 members are still currently involved in recording/gigging. Fos recently joined up with "Mad Kenny" from Blackburn band the Original Mushrooms and started the band "Urban Valley Chickens" and Ersy is still playing and recording with Blackburn Punk band Boredom U.K. | | | | 0704001412182
