Jimmy Conwell was their driving force, but all four singers contributed. Jimmy and fellow Exit Godoy Colbert, along with label owner Hank Graham co-writing both of these songs. Graham licensed 'Another Sundown In Watts' to Kapp records but with the issue being incredibly scarce compared to the demo, it may not have had a proper release. The song is hugely popular among both discerning northern soul fans and harmony lovers and now fetches over £1,000. Coming up fast on the rails is the catchy dancer 'I Don't Want To Hear It', issued on Cleveland's Gemini label two years previously. It's another mid-tempo harmony jam, ideal for today's ageing dancers. | | | | | FLETCHER, DARROW - THE PAIN GETS A LITLE DEEPER/MY JUDGEMENT DAY 'The Pain Gets A Little Deeper' was soul music's equivalent of Frankie Lymon's 'Why Do Fools Fall In Love' - young, vulnerable, heart-felt vocals that belied the singer's years. It entered the charts in January 1966 and catapulted the 14 year-old Darrow Fletcher to fame in the R&B world, particularly in his home city of Chicago. Elton John has cited the recording as one of the best soul records he has ever heard. The 'My Judgement Day' flip demonstrated that there was depth to Darrow's talent and a fruitful career followed. | | | | | Three pieca all girl band formed by singer Coco in Tokyo. Rooted in '70 and 80's punk and roll, their catchy sound and unique character have captivated music fabs worldwide. A powerful 7" from dinamic trio, The Let's Go's could easily be described as a femake, modern-say Japanase version of The Ramones meets The New York Dolls. Sound great? Whe think so! | | | | 0029667039178 SOUL HARMONY | LONG, BARBARA/THE CAUTIONS - TAKE IT FROM ME/POOR LOSER Barbara Long's exquisite vocals on 'Take It From Me' are backed by a heavenly backing group that was no doubt arranged and maybe featured Raynoma "Miss Ray" Gordy, Berry's second wife and co-founder of Motown. This song was written by Eddie Singleton, Ray's new partner who set up Shrine Records with her in Washington DC. The record came out on their sister label Jet Set, but sold poorly and is very sought after now. Singleton wrote another beautiful harmony ballad, 'Poor Loser' for his main group the Cautions - issued on Shrine in 1966. It was their second single and got lost in the company's implosion with most copies incinerated in record distributor Waxie Maxie's fire. Its Northern soul flip makes it a £2,000 record on original. | | | | | MISFITS - 3 HITS FROM HELL Back in stock! Numbered.Formed in 1961 when Dennis Wilson, the only Beach Boy to regularly visit the beach, asked his brother Brian to write a song about the sport of surfing. The Beach Boys reached number 75 in national charts with their first single (the resultant song 'Surfin') and were immediately signed to a major label. Though many debut albums in the early '60s were mainly built around a few smash-hits, the Beach Boys' 1962 full length debut on Capitol (featuring such hits as 'Surfin' Safari', '409' and their version of the Eddie Cochran classic 'Summertime Blues') remains one of the greatest first steps in American pop culture, and a mandatory chapter in the history of rock and roll. | | | | | CARGO - DELIVERING THE GOODS Heavy UK progressive monster rarity from 1973, only one acetate copy known to exist. In 1973, they recorded a demo acetate titled Delivering The Goods at Zella Studios. Although they nearly signed with Island Records, they turned down the offer when it was only extended to the singer and drummer. Influenced by bands like Gentle Giant, ELP and Yes, Cargo gained attention through strong live performances, supporting major acts like Queen and East of Eden. Gatefold sleeve in the best early 70s style, Remastered sound. Insert with detailed liner notes by Austin Matthews (Shindig! / Flashback) and rare photos. Since they formed in 2004, Danish instrumental four-piece Causa Sui has become a much revered act on the fertile European psych scene. Many psych- and stoner-rock bands aim for the perfect imitation of that vintage heavy psych sound circa 1970, but Causa Sui have forged their own distinct path. Causa Sui draws on a larger pool than the usual derived exploration of Sabbath riffs and clichd krautrock jamming. The band always adds untraditional flavours, past and present, into their seething experimental sound. Causa Sui's has been described as "the sound of a giant wave rolling up through the last four decades of rock", which is truer than ever before regarding this latest, and most ambitious album to date, Euporie Tide Whereas previous albums were brewed with spontaneity, and flickers of complete improv, Euporie Tide was meticulously perfected over years of work. Opening track, Homage, pays tribute to the early 1990s American grunge and stoner-rock bands the band grew up with. From that point of departure Causa Sui go on to weave a rich and complex textile, with threads coming from early 1970s electric jazz, post-rock, exotica, heavy rock, raga and all kinds of psychedelia. When one reaches the multigenre-influenced grooves on side 4 it's obvious that the band has arrived at something that is very relevant in the present day. The album was recorded and produced by Jonas Munk, crafting a sound that is simultaneously naturalistic in approach, yet strangely detailed. The album was mastered in a way as to maintain the full dynamic range of the recordings. | | | | | CHILDREN OF THE MUSHROOM - LADY Formed in California in 1967, Children of the Mushroom were the quintessential garage-psych band. As the times evolved, the band hardened their sound, shortening their name to Mushroom. By 1970, Mushroom became Lady, incorporating prog-rock influences and instruments like flute to their hard-pych organ/guitar dominated sound, drawing inspiration from bands like Jethro Tull, Steamhammer, Gypsy or Bloodrock. In 1971 the band recorded a few studio demos at Village Recorders in Los Angeles, which are presented here in top sound quality along with a couple of raw, lo-fi but killer live tracks from the same year. Inset + download card. | 60s Progresive/Psychedel 15/09/2025 | | | | EDENA GARDENS - DISPOSSESED Edena Gardens return with Dispossessed, a record that strips everything back to instinct and atmosphere. Captured in a single studio session at Causa Sui's Jonas Munk's Odense base, this is the first time the trio played together since 2023's Dens. The results channel shifting tempos, heavy riffage, and moments of meditative stillness into something raw yet cohesive. From the sludgy propulsion of opener `Hiraeth' to the glacial, ten-minute closer `Aftenstjerne', the record charts an unbroken arc of first-take improvisation, shaped only slightly by drummer Jakob Skott in post. Every dubbed texture stems from the same day's recordings, preserving the chemistry between Skott (also of Causa Sui), guitarist Nicklas Sorensen (Papir), and bassist/baritone guitarist Martin Rude (London Odense Ensemble). Dispossessed reflects a world slightly out of joint_faster, darker, and more disorienting_but also suggests a way to tune inward and find stillness amid the noise. | Progresive/Psychedelic 30/09/2025 | | | 8055515237276 HEY SUBURBIA | F.Y.P. - FINISH YOUR POPCORN Color vinyl. Originally released in 1992 on Recess Records, now back on vinyl for the first time since its original run. Led by Todd Congelliere (Toys That Kill, Underground Railroad to Candyland), this lo-fi classic tears through fifteen tracks of raw, snotty, ultra-catchy punk rock that helped define the Recess sound. Fast, bratty, and unmistakably DIY - a true staple of early '90s West Coast punk. Essential listening for fans of hooks, heart, and maximum fuzz. | | | | | GRUESOMES - THE DIMENSION OF FEAR Canadian garage legends THE GRUESOMES release "The Dimension Of Fear", their first new album in 25 years! Originally released in 1962, Takin' Off marked Herbie Hancock's debut as a leader, showcasing his balance of sophistication and accessibility. While influenced by Horace Silver's hard bop, Hancock's style was lighter, more cerebral, and adventurous in its harmonies. The album includes the iconic Watermelon Man, which became a jazz standard after its hit cover by Mongo Santamaria. Other highlights include the introspective Alone and I, the minor-key The Maze, and the bluesy Empty Pockets. Backed by Freddie Hubbard, Dexter Gordon, Butch Warren, and Billy Higgins, this debut laid the foundation for Hancock's future innovations in jazz. | | | | 8055515237061 DESTINATIONMOON | HOLIDAY, BILLIE - JAZZ AT THE PHILHARMONIC Clear vinyl. Numbered. A true icon of jazz, Billie Holiday (1915-1959) redefined vocal artistry with her raw emotion and unmistakable phrasing. Discovered by producer John Hammond in 1933, she recorded with Benny Goodman before rising to fame alongside jazz greats. Her haunting voice and timeless classics, like Strange Fruit, captured both beauty and pain. Though personal struggles and addiction took their toll, her influence remains immeasurable. Arrested for heroin possession on her deathbed, she left behind a legacy that still resonates through generations. | | | | | JAM - PARIS MODERNE (PARIS THEATER 1978) | | | | | LEMONHEADS - COME ON FEEL (REGULAR VERSION+DL) Come On Feel The Lemonheads is the 1993 album that cemented The Lemonheads' place in the global alt-rock spotlight and turned Evan Dando into a defining figure of the era. Packed with radio-ready hooks and off-kilter charm, it features some of the band's most enduring singles, including `Big Gay Heart', `Into Your Arms', `It's About Time', and `The Great Big NO'. With a mix of exuberant power-pop and melancholy ballads, the album showcases Dando's ear for melody and his disarmingly confessional songwriting. Over thirty years on, it still rings with the same immediacy and heart that made it a classic. As The Guardian noted, it's home to "some of his best, sharpest writing," while NME described it as "a chance to dip into Evan's jumbled-up, dope-smoking love-buggy of a life and celebrate it." Includes download for bonus material. | Rock/Pop/Indie/Alternat. 30/09/2025 | | | | LEMONHEADS - LOVEY (BLUE VINYL+DL) Dando's first steps towards the mainstream. The major label debut for Evan Dando's Lemonheads from 1990, following three "ramshackle punk" (cSelect magazine) albums for Taang! Pivoted on a more approachable set of sweet melodies still rife with punky spirit. A light and dark album, polished in the arrangements, nodding to the excess of American culture (Manson and Gummi Bears), hectoring Reagan's drug laws (`Lil' Seed'), riffing on everyday life. Remastered single LP. "Like Hüsker Dü when they were at their most ferocious or REM when they were at their most Byrdsian hypnotic." Nausea from L.A. formed in 1987 from the ashes of Majesty and sharing two members with Terrorizer. Oscar Garcia eventually recorded Terrorizer's classic "World downfall" Lp, but Nausea didn't break up, thus unleashing another death metal/grindcore instant classic originally released in 1991 by Wild Rags. 500 copies on stubborn black vinyl, upgraded graphic layout to make it basically identical to the original European press down to small details, jacket on 350 grams cardboard, 4 pages insert (as in the original US press), outer plastic bag. | | | | | NICO - BBC RECORDINGS & LIVE 74/75 Containing 2 BBC sessions (four songs recorded for John Peel's show in 1974 and two from The Old Grey Whistle Test in 1975) and 2 songs recorded live at the Rainbow Theatre in 1974, this record is filled with the power and intensity that Nico could summon with just her powerful voice and beloved harmonium.
