DEKATRON - DEKATRON III
DEKATRON is a duo formed in 2013 by IVAN SENTIONAUT, who has just released
his first solo LP on Sincronica, and MIGUEL A RUIZ, a pioneer of Spanish
underground electronic music since the early 80s who has worked under
countless aliases through his cassette label Toracic Tapes, such as his
legendary project Orfeón Gagarin, praised by Asmus Tietchens and Discos Esplendor
Geométrico. The duo's first album, "Dekatron II" (2014), received
excellent reviews which regarded the duo as the new sensation in cosmic
electronic music. Dekatron take as inspiration the beginning of computing,
the first IT systems and the deep cosmos. They explore the possibilities of
the sounds of the new electronic age, using a wide array of digital and
analogue synthesizers, sound generators and rhythm machines. "Dekatron
III" is the awaited continuation: a second LP (also a limited edition) where
their style range within electronic music widens, including more topics and
where we find echoes of Japanese tecno pop, cosmic disco and extraterrestrial
ambient music. It's a richer album, more varied and mature than their debut,
and without a doubt a future classic of Spanish electronic music. As with the
previous record, the wonderful sleeve has been designed by Alonso Urbanos,
from an original oil painting by Adamo Dimitriadis. Science and

perspective. Listening to it in that very weird, poignant and strangely
exalted state I was struck by the notion that Bowie had created an incredibly complex and
layered swan song and had, in effect, transformed his death into an
astonishing work of art. By the time the final track came on I was weeping
copi/ously. Those tears needed somewhere to go. They ended up in a song.

peach tree in Georgia
in the American south. They play psychedelic, repetitious, and joyful rock
and roll music. In 2014 they released the album Sings for You Now under the
name Pinecones. In 2016 they decided to change their name in order to form a
more perfect union. A union of sound and vision. With this, they had a new
album, a masterpiece of modern guitar music entitled simply I Hear You. I Hear
You was crafted through the ancient process of collaboration. All four
members brought their love to one another and turned it into song. The album
plays like a freedom chant. You can hear laughter in their music. You can see
the joy among them. In every known photo of the band they appear to be
smiling. All that is left to do is listen. Listen to this album dedicated to

solo album by Christian Hede Madsen (Pet The Preacher) Bellhound Choir is a
solo project by Christian Hede Madsen from Copenhagen. His debut album 'Imagine The
Crackle' was already recorded last year but is now set for release May 20th
2016 on Bad Afro Records. In late 2015 Bellhound Choir released the EP 'Stray
Screech Beast' on Lay Bare Recordings in Holland. Soon after he went on a three week
European tour in December with John Garcia (the former vocalist of the
groundbreaking stoner rock band Kyuss). The tour went so well that they will
go on another three week European tour in May and June visiting places that
were not included the first time around. In addition three songs from 'Stray
Screetch Beast' ended up in the Ulrik Thomsen movie 'In Embryo'. Bellhound
Choir has a preference for the blues but there is nothing nostalgic about the
music. It's very here and now and is mixed up with alternative folk that is
both gloomy and melancholic. Christian Hede Madsen has a past in the Danish
stoner rock band Pet The Preacher which also shines through in the music and
all together it ends up sounding like some sort of Scandinavian blues noir.
Dramatic and spiritual. 'Imagine The Crackle' has a dark soul and sometimes
it sounds like judgment day is just around the corner. The album is produced
by Sebastian Wolff from Keldermench (who is also playing drums on the nine
songs) and mixed by Steffen Sorensen. Together they have done a great job at
facilitating the black-eyed mood of the songs. Three of them are graced with
the beautiful voice of Camilla Munck who take no prisoners in a song like
"Slow Pain". Line-up on magine The Crackle': Mads Uldall-Jessen -
double-bass, Camilla Munch - Vocals and Rhodes, Soren Stensby - Violin, Sebastian
Wolff - drums, Christian Hede Madsen - Guitar and vocals.

All (good) things must come to an end. DARKCREED never played by the rules in
the first place - yet few could have predicted such an unusual career, if you
could call it that. One might say that in the 20 years since they formed in Mexico City, they
haven't achieved much but as their singer and spokesman Andrs Furukawa said
himself: It's about quality, not quantity. Despite having only released two
demos and one EP (ark Regions'), their legacy extends beyond such a meagre
discography. After relocating to Sweden, Furukawa contributed
lyrics to the song audanum Dreams' on TRIBULATION's, hildren of the Night'
(2015). He also oversaw the making of the resurrected in Festering Slime'
(2008) compilation that paved the way for the resurgence of real death metal
in Scandinavia. Having never done things
according to the norm (no live gigs, no promo pictures) it was as if the band
lay dormant -and in a way, they did. In 2015 the inevitable decision to split up became official.

of "Haunted Wheelchair" built around dissonant, jazz/like chords,
the no/wave party vibe of "Suitcase Jimmy", "Hey! Buddy"
/ an "unintentionally mean/spirited" askew pop tune from the point
of view of an over/zealous fan of the band. "Cable St. Blues" is an
odd duet between two parts of the psyche ending " like a New Orleans jazz
funeral". "Hot Sauce" is led by a groovy, capacious bassline,
while "Armchair Theatre"starts out like a soft rock classic and
turns in to a gorgeously mournful song with the lyric "I took you to the
park & kickin' through used Johnnies and dry leaves". And
"Welcome to Usk" draws on Ennio Morricone's spaghetti western
soundtracks A dark, howling, ragged storm of an album, impossible to
cate/gorise, Vanilla is anything but - a far cry from the bland,
unimaginative music that pervades the airwaves. It is a brittle, brilliant new
chapter in the story of a band who never fail to surprise.

in February and March 2015, they were strongly inspired to return to the

rumours, fans eagerly waited and the recent announcement of a complete
overhaul of their line/up worried some but as those four new tracks will
prove it, FUNEBRARUM have lost none of their power. Actually, now featuring
among others drummer Charlie Koryn from GHOULGOTHA and guitarist Sam Osborne
who recently joined DEMONCY, it seems they are now in 2016 even more focus
yet rawer and / yes, it is possible! / heavier than ever. Whereas their
second full/length from 2009 he Sleep of Morbid Dreams- showcased a faster
and more in/your/face approach, xhumation of the Ancient- sees them returning
to the *very( putrid sounding and sludgier genre of their earlier
recordings> more than ever, founding member and sole survivor of the
precedent line/up Daryl Kahan-s voice seems to echo from the deepest pits of
Hell and with their now even more downtuned guitars, their music nearly
matches ETERNAL DARKNESS and MOONDARK ult- oppressing approach. Here, they
combine the ancient feeling of the early Finnish and Swedish sound and bathe
in an acid bath of doom, rounded up by few creepy dark/ambient interludes
that only adds to the overall feeling of claustrophobia. Enhanced by its
fitting artwork courtesy of Necromantic Arts *Germany(, recorded in only one
day on December 6th 2015 to at Volume IV studio in New Brunswick New Jersey
and mastered by Kahan himself *who also handled the deign of the whole thing(
ahead of their forthcoming European tour with INTERMENT and PUTRISECT that
will include a slot of the inaugural edition of the Netherlands Deathfest in
Tilburg, -Exhumation of the Ancient- is probably this year-s most rotten and
crushing death/metal release, by far. FUNEBRARUM rule them all and there-s no

Released in early 2007 on CD through CONQUEROR OF THORNS RECORDS, this wasn-t
your ordinary split. Not only was it FUNEBRARUM first material in over four
years but it also marked the grand return of Avesta-s own INTERMENT, a fantastic
yet quite unlucky Swedish death/metal formed back in 1988 *first as BEYOND(
that initially had only the opportunity to record three acclaimed demos
before calling it a day. After a twelve years break, the band had decided to
reform around three of its key members / including drummer Kennet Englund and
singer Johan Jansson, both former members of CENTINEX / and this was their
first sign of life. And what a return it was, made of only brand new material
and recorded at the Black Lounge studio by Jonas Kjellgren from SCAR
SYMMETRY. Pure Swedish old/school death/metal bliss! Yet determined to be up
to the task, FUNEBRARUM-s part of this split is no less glorious and intense.
Made of up of two new crushing songs *of which, @Grave Reaper@ would later on
be re/recorded for their leep Of Dormant Sleep- album( that proved that their
doomy, dark brand of death/metal had lost none of its touch since the release
of their debut album, the icing on the cake here truly remains their choice
of covers. As in a way, Grave-s @Into The Grave@ and Abhorrence-s @Caught In
A Vortex@ defined so perfectly the devilish parameters FUNEBRARUM had based
all their evil deeds on. Long out/of/print but now available again and for

Michelangelo Antonioni's 1961 masterpiece LA NOTTE is an atmospheric and
enthralling movie starring the great Marcello Mastroianni, Jeanne Moreau and
Monica Vitti and is the second entry in his famous "alienation
trilogy" the central film of a trilogy beginning with
"L'Avventura" *1960( and ending with "L'Eclisse" *1962(.
Antonioni's composer/of/choice for the first and the third movies was Giovanni
Fusco, however, Since LA NOTTE was shot in Milan,
Antonioni's initial idea was to hire a native composer, Giorgio Gaslini
considering that there was a big difference between the jazz music that was
being produced in the South and in the North of Italy.. Gaslini wrote his score while
the film was being shot, making a cameo with his own orchestra in the party
that serves as a background for the film. According to his recollections this
ended up being the most bizarre and exciting experience of his career. The
end result is fairly unique as well> a catalogue of ambience jazz music

James Brown. Who doesn't know about the godfather of soul? Who doesn't know

soul music: Mrs. Martha High. She is the one who sings that crazy soprano
note at the very beginning of the song and she is the one who sang behind
James Brown for about 35 years. She was with Brown and the JB's in Boston on the infamous night after the Martin Luther
King assassination, she flew with him in the dangerous Vietnam skies to entertain the US soldiers, and was also in Zaire celebrating the

friend, confidant and supporter of the godfather of soul. Maybe she was just
too young and shy to jump over the other soul divas to ask for a solo record.

business. She is still touring worldwide as a lead singer of Maceo Parker's
band but now she is on fire because finally, she has recorded the album she
never made but always wanted to make. 11 killer original tunes produced and

Barroselas Metal Fest and Faro Bike Meeting in their home country. In

more than that might imply as it is also a Thelonious Monk record. As always,
his genius for improvisation and interpretation of melody are on full
display, a fantastic early record from one of the true iconoclasts of jazz,
and another fine reissue from Jeanne Dielman.

Hold tight, for this is the zenith of the Norwegians motorpsychodelic
tendencies, with the em-phasis on the blissful and melodic rather than their
more (metal)hair-raising moments, but still an intense rollercoaster ride all
of its own. There are five of their own compositions, from the tantalising
piano intro (Sleepwalking - and its equally brief reprise Sleepwalking Again)
to the expansive and stunningly scenic 17-minute adventure - another
rollercoaster! - of the closing Big Black Dog, via the serene beauty of
Lacuna/Sunrise and Running With Scissors, and the pulsing, pounding I.M.S.
Motorpsycho also felt it was the perfect occasion to record one of their
favourite psych nuggets of old; their take on HP Lovecrafts version of Terry
Calliers Spin Spin Spin, adds a new, slightly sinister vibe to the old folk
tune, which offsets and complements the grandiose cinematic sweep of their
own songs. It is Motorpsy-cho taking a long look into the abyss, to drive the
darkness out by accepting that it is real and true and a part of us all.

SPK - FIELD REPORT SAN FRANCISCO
San Francisco Odd Fellows Hall 16 May 1981 SPK were an Australian industrial
music and noise music group formed in 1978. They were fronted by mainstay
member, Graeme Revell on keyboards and percussion. In 1980 the group
travelled to the United
Kingdom where they issued their debut
album, Information Overload Unit. In 1983 Sinan Leong joined on lead vocals.
The group disbanded in 1988, two years later Revell and Leong relocated to the
United States, where
Revell has worked as a Hollywood
film score composer. According to Australian rock music historian, Ian
McFarlane, SPK were "at the forefront of the local post-punk,
electronic/experimental movement of the late 1970s ... [their] music
progressed from discordant, industrial-strength metal noise to sophisticated
and restrained dance-rock with strange attributes".

A collection of some of Karlheinz Stockhausen's earliest work, including his

Paris. Until 1992 this piece was believed to have been lost. The LP also
includes the celebrated "Zeitmass" *1955(, and "Klavierstück
XI, parts I/IV" *1956(, both of which helped to cement Stockhausen's
role as one of the leading German composers of the 20th century.

"Kontakte" *1959/60(, Stockhausen's first piece to use both
electronics and traditional instruments together, marks a turning point in
his career, when his music was beginning to show the influences of American
avant/garde jazz and composers like John Cage. In "Kontakte" live
musicians play alongside a tape recording of percussion sounds that have been
altered by different electronic devices *i.e. a ring modulator or a reverberator(.
Stockhausen wanted the musicians to improvise over the prepared tape, but the
musicians were at such a loss that Stockhausen eventually had to score the
instrumental parts as well.

in Florence/Italy. He was a composer of film scores,

for The Muppet Show. The song was also an anthem of the Benny Hill show. In

WIRE - NOCTURNAL KOREANS
Having completed a preliminary round of work on their eponymous 2015 album at
Rockfield Studios,Wire found themselves with 19 tracks. Among them, there was
a critical mass of 11 aesthetically unified songs. In typical Wire fashion,
however, the remaining material was something other: it had the sound of a
band already moving in a different direction, beyond the album project in
which they were engaged at that time. These tracks were the basis for
Nocturnal Koreans. The difference between the two clusters of work birthed at
Rockfield has its roots in discrete approaches to the studio process itself.
Nocturnal Koreans emphasises studio construction over authentic performance,
using the recording environment as an instrument, not just as a simple means
of capturing Wire playing. Although its become de rigueur to talk about Wires
capacity for self-reinvention, thats never the whole story. Certainly, the
impulse to pursue fresh ideas with each phase of work is buried deep in their
artistic DNA, but theyve balanced that commitment to the new with a core character
and attitude thats always at some level recognisable as Wire-without being
reducible to a formulaic sound. Its this enduring dialectic that gives Wire
their unique status as a long-established band that continues to forge ahead
with original music: always unmistakably Wire but always reimagined and
reframed with each successive project

Sub Pop will release Wolf Parade-s Apologies to the Queen Mary> Deluxe
Edition, a reissue of the group-s acclaimed first album, worldwide on 3xLP
May 13th. The reissue features the original album, now as a much/better/sounding
2Xlp, along with the band-s pre/Sub Pop, self/titled EPs *released in 2003
and 2004(, both of which are making their vinyl debut. The package also
includes the previously unreleased track @Snakes on the Ladder@ from the
Apologies sessions. The album was remastered for this release by the band-s
longtime associate Harris Newman at Grey Market Mastering. This reissue comes
on the heels of Wolf Parade-s recently/announced reunion. The band will be
touring in the summer of 2016. Wolf Parade was founded in 2003 in Montreal, Quebec.
After the aforementioned self/titled EPs, the group released Apologies to the

Audible Alchemy in Portland,
Oregon. The album was an
entirely collaborative effort, barreling headfirst and breathlessly through

gave Apologies to the Queen Mary a 9.2 rating, saying, @Wolf Parade-s true
talent is transforming the everyday into the unprecedented.@ And The Guardian
raved, @Magnificent, all told.@ The album has sold over 100,000 in the U.S.
