FUZZTONES - RAW HEAT
The Real Sound of "In Heat": the disclaimer on the album states,
"NOT produced by Shel Talmy" (The Who, Kinks). The original version
of the album "In Heat" as it was intended to sound. THE FUZZTONES
have been around for over 30 years as a garage rock revival band. Though
originally from New York City, they work mainly in Europe where their brand
of retro 60 trash rock burns up radios from Hungary to Poland to Italy. The
original "In Heat" was released in 1989 at the peak of the garage
revival, when bands like the Chesterfield Kings, Lyres, and Cynics were all
the rage. Unsurprising, the music industry turned a blind eye, yet
miraculously THE FUZZTONES signed a major label deal with RCA. Label politics
had the band in a "real" studio with a "name" producer
who watered down their unharnessed energy and snotty attitude. In the end the
original disc was a second rate affair with most of the grit rubbed out only
to die a sad, quick death at the hands of critics who never appreciated the
band's live act anyway. With the resurgence in garage rock in The Hives and
The Strokes, the time may be right again for THE FUZZTONES to get a second
shot. "Raw Heat" therefore turns the clock back in time when garage
rock rivaled punk as the most exciting musical scene to come along in
decades. Produced by founder&guitarist&singer Rudi Protrudi and
Jordan Tarlow (Outta Place, Morlocks) the recording gets a second wind when
"Heathen Set" comes roaring out of the speakers. The running order
has changed from the original recording putting more power up front. Both the
classic church organ and dangerous guitars are better controlled in the mix
(originally the organ overpowered the whole thing). "Hurt On Hold"
still stands strong as the band's real chance at a single although "Me
Tarzan, You Jane" with its featured harmonica is a close second. The
added punch of the bass and primitive drums give the whole thing a real boost
especially on "Cheyenne Rider" and "You Must Be A Witch"
- no wonder Ian Asbury of The Cult was so hooked on these guys. Best song in
our book is the title track "In Heat" - "We'll I'm a big bad
wolf, can't ya hear me howl" Ahh. give the boys the credit they deserve.

Los Afroins was the flagship salsa band of the obscure but beloved INS label
from Colombia. Their 1975 LP “Goza La Salsa” is just as hard to find as their
first record, and contains 10 bright and sassy salsa dura treasures that
light up the dance floor with their incessant rhythms, syncopated trumpets
and trombone and buoyant melodies. There are smoking covers of hits by Panama’s
Bush y sus Magníficos (‘Salsa Al Pindin’) and Bronx timbalero Orlando Marín
and His Orchestra (‘Está De Bala’) as well as updated renditions of old Cuban
chestnuts ‘La Masacre’ (written by Joseíto Fernández of ‘Guantanamera’ fame)
and ‘Matusa’ (originally titled ‘Macusa’, composed by Francisco Repilado aka achang
Segundo). The entire record makes for a very tasty and satisfying party
platter filled with guaguancó, achangae, achanga, descarga and bolero that
deserves to be more accessible and better known by today’s fans of Colombian
salsa who may have heard of The Latin Brothers or Sonora Carruseles, but have
yet to discover the short/lived but highly sought after Los Afroins. “Goza La
Salsa” is presented here in facsimile artwork and pressed on 180 gram

Paraiso was one of the most essential bands of the Spanish new wave scene in
the 80s also known as “La Movida”. It is only now, over 40 years after its
recording, that we are thrilled to present Paraiso’s lost album that never

Corte Final” comprises the result of two different recording sessions from
1979, showing how fresh, fun and also potentially commercial the group was.

Afro-Peruvian music, also known as “música criolla”, finds its roots in West
African music, Spanish and European genres and native musical traditions from
Peru. After a long struggle to preserve it through oral means over
generations, a renewed interest in those rhythms and melodies arose in the
1950s. The dance company Perú Negro won the main award at 1969’s Festival
Hispanoamericano de la Danza y la Canción, and a few years later their
repertoire was included in two albums which introduced música criolla and
Afro-Peruvian culture to a wider audience, “Son De Los Diablos” being the
latter. If you have an interest in Cuban son or Colombian bambuco, this

Me', was a hit for Johnny Adams in 1969. Margaret's worl-weary, almost
resigned vocal tells a story that resonates across class and colour. The
waltz time of the plaintive 'It's Alright (You Can Go)' exposes Margaret's
Louisiana roots, adding another dimension to the varied sounds of this EP.

Salón Dadá was a Peruvian post-punk band made up of Támira Bassallo, Jaime de
Lama and Juan Huamán Hoover, active in the Lima underground movement of the
80s, known as "Rock subterráneo". They left no official recordings.
But at the end of 1986, they did record a 4-track rehearsal which began to
circulate as an unofficial demo, becoming a classic of the period.
"Ensayo 1986" ("Rehearsal 1986") is now published for the
first time in vinyl format. Presented as a pink 7-inch EP, this new addition

their native land. Perhaps it has faded into somewhat a mystery as they had
virtually no contributions to the thriving scene of Finland in 1982 and 1983

light few years ago, but it really didn-t make justice to the fact that these
guys had two incredible studio recordings that they didn-t send anywhere at
that time, and that were unearthed just recently thanks to the help of a
friend that contacted a band member and triggered the gear that made us get
here. So if you-re a fan of raw and fast Suomi HC&Punk and turn crazy for
bands such as Kaaos, Rattus, Bastards, Terveet Kädet, Varaus, Sorto,
Riistetyt, Kansan Uutiset and dozens more, this 49 song discography by BAYONET
needs to be an instant add/on to your collection. These guys claimed they
were influenced by early -80s US Hardcore but the style is actually what we
all love of Finnish HC, a bloody chaotic inferno of speed and brutal
distortion. This collection includes their two studio sessions @Taste of
piss@ and @Finger in a deep arsehole@ plus bonus rehearsals, songs from the
rare @Ilkivalta@ compilation tape and the recording of the only live they

Not to sound like Ben Wallers singing "Black Change," or anything,
but in the year 2000 a young band of suavely attired fellas from Cedar
Rapids, Iowa called THE HORRORS rolled through Las Vegas for a show. They'd
recently signed to In The Red Recordings and were touring on the strength of
their newly released debut LP, and proceeded to scalp the crowd clean to the
bone with an obliterating racket, and primitive movements that looked like
something out of a sci-fi clonus nightmare, so naturally I was quick to
invite them over for a home-cooked meal of fried chicken and mashed potatoes
the next day. They arrived as promised, and I delivered as well> ineptly
cooked bird fried in shallow oil, underseasoned, battered in crud, black on
the outside and possibly undercooked. The Horrors were gracious, and we
parted ways. A mere 13 years later, guitarist Andy Caffrey contacted me about
his swampy new crew AUTODRAMATICS, and to ask if we'd sell some copies of
their LP in the Slovenly shop. Well of course. He even reminded me about
coming over for chicken a lifetime ago and never mentioned how bad it was. We
took the LP's, sold most of m, and then... silence for a few more years. And
I get another missive out of nowhere. "I'd like to send you a CD-R copy
of the CR DICKS full length." CR what ? DICKS ? It's called "CR
DICKS GO IN?? And Mr. Caffrey delivered a noisy-assed garage-punk disaster
basted in crunk and hip-hop. Sounds terrible, right? Yeah, well, this is what
Black Gladiator's been lusting after since its inception (see also> OBNOX,
THE LO-FI JERKHEADS, ELECTRIC CRUSH, CELLULITE), and motherFUCK if ain't
ain't the bozack. So we snatched 'em up on the spot and assembled this new
"Dick Moves" LP. It's demented, dope, and has Pete Balestrieri,
ex-VIOLENT FEMMES saxman blowing on it, in case you weren't hip enough to be
sold by the Andy Caffrey name. Just
don't say we didn't warn you.

DONALDSON, ERIC - ERIC DONALDSON
Eric Donaldson's soaring falsetto has made him one of Jamaica's best-loved
vocalists. Born in the country town of Bog Walk in 1947, Donaldson cut some
ska material at Studio One in 1964, which never surfaced, and went on to form
The West Indians vocal trio at the tail end of rock steady, enjoying minor
local hits for Sir JJ and Lee Scratch' Perry. Winning the annual Festival Song
Competition with love ditty "Cherry Oh Baby" in 1971 saw him team
up with former Jamaicans vocalist Tommy Cowan and hit-making producer Bunny
Striker' Lee, the subsequent recording of the tune at Dynamic Sounds studio
resulting in a spectacular success around the world and subsequent hit cover
versions by The Rolling Stones and UB40, among many others. This self-titled
debut album was recorded at Dynamics in the wake of the hit with the set of
upcoming players known as The Inner Circle, which then featured future
members of Third World such as keyboardist and arranger Ibo Cooper and

"Lights Out" is exactly the sort of furious take that the band has

modern danceable DIY in equal measure. "Disconnected" bubbles out

In 1992 Mudhoney left Sub-Pop and signed with Warner Brothers' subsidiary
Reprise Records. Having already worked on a batch of songs, we set out to
demo what we had. My buddy from high school, Rolf Bertieg, and his friend Jim
Collier had set up a studio in the basement of Jim's house in the Wedgwood
neighborhood of Seattle, where, armed with a few tunes and several cases of
beer we made these recordings. The songs on this record would eventually be
re-recorded and released on our album Piece Of Cake, except "Knock It On
The Head" which has remained unreleased until now. (Maybe there's a
reason for that, but I'll leave it up to the listener to make that judgment).
The energy and the vibe of these recordings reflect how we wish the final
Piece Of Cake would have sounded. Hope
you enjoy this archaeological dig through our past.

you a picture of the sonic hecatomb that these French maniacs were spawning.
Out of tune guitars, manic fast drumming and rabid vocals. Logos of LARM,
KAAOS, HEADCLEANERS, EU'S ARSE on their jackets. And their only 7"
released on "Caos Produzioni" by the singer of WRETCHED. So you can
easily guess how they were sounding. RAPT were certainly not the earliest
Hardcore & Thrash band in the 80ies French scene but certainly one of the
fastest and noisiest. This total discography set authorized by the band's
bass player and screamer Olivier collects their Split 7" with Final
Blast, all their demos (also including the 3rd one recorded in NYC with a
different line-up) and a very detailed selection of rare recordings, most of
which have never been released to date. Each session has been transferred
from the mastertapes provided by the band and accurately mastered for vinyl,
you have never heard the RAPT sounding so powerful and clear as on this
ultimate release. Housed in a gatefold sleeve with a fanzine styled booklet
full of photos, flyers, zine excerpts and original artworks. The extra
7" has the NYC demo 1987 while the bonus CD has all what you'll find on

Jamaican deejay Shorty The President may have been one of the more obscure figures
to rise from the Kingston sound system scene, but the impact he made on vinyl
recordings during the 1970s is no less important and his work remains coveted
by reggae connoisseurs. Born Derrick Thompson in rural Trelawny in 1949, like
many of his peers, he moved to the Jamaican capital as a teenager in search
of better opportunities. As he gravitated to the Rastafari faith, an
affiliation with the sound system Conquering Lion sparked interest from
producer Rupie Edwards, who produced debut hits "President Mash Up The
Resident" and "Yamaha Skank." Edwards issued debut album
Presenting Shorty The President in 1976 and after sparse work for Enos
McLeod, Joe Gibbs, Pete Weston, Winston Riley and Keith Hudson, sophomore
album Fire Fire was produced by Bunny Lee in 1978, with Shorty riding
typically tough Aggrovators rhythms of the day, including Ronnie Davis'
updated version of Bob Marley's "Kaya" and The Cables' "Baby
Why," Delroy Wilson's "Have Some Mercy" and Barry Brown's take
of Wilson's "I'm Not A King," as well as killer cuts of Brown's
"Natty Roots Hold Them" as "Roots Man" and "Best
Thing In Life" as "Do My Thing."

The title of "The Decalogue" has a touch of the grandiose, it means
"The Ten Commandments". Yet this score, composed by Sufjan Stevens
for a dance work choreographed by Justin Peck that premiered with the New
York City Ballet in May of 2017, is quiet and experimental. Stevens's piano
score, as played and recorded by Timo Andres, sounds like etudes in the
Romantic-modernist tradition, as if prompted by Debussy. With "The
Decalogue" now released digitally, and on vinyl and CD, Sufjan is
making-gently, without ostentation-new departures.

SUGAR MINOTT - LEADER FOR THE PACK
Sugar Minott is part of the pantheon of Jamaican roots reggae icons, one of a
handful of singers that indelibly changed the course of the music and helped
it reach a broader overseas audience. Raised next door to one of Jamaica's
most popular dancehalls, in the heart of a notorious west Kingston slum,
Minott joined The African Brothers in the mid-1970s, making an impact with
singles for Rupie Edwards, Clive Chin and Micron Music, as well as with
self-produced work, but the breakthrough came when Sugar went solo for Studio
One, spearheading the reuse of classic rhythms at the facility for new
purpose. He later moved away from Studio One to record sparse work for Prince
Jammy, Mikey Dread and other smaller producers but the main focus was Black
Roots & Youth Promotion, the record label and sound system he established
himself. Then, following smash hit "Good Thing Going," Sugar helped
to launch the careers of dancehall stars like Tenor Saw and Nitty Gritty. The
Leader For The Pack album was produced by Bunny Lee in 1985 at The Rock
studio in London, established by Gibraltarians Danny, Eddy and Henry. Sugar's
first fully synthesized album, it was arranged by Jackie Mittoo and revived
classic rhythms of the past with minimal, synth-driven backing, including
"Everybody Needs Love" as "This Is Rockers Music,"
alongside a great cut of "Sleng Teng" for the title track<
"Them Have To Come A We" was co-written by fellow icon, Gregory
Isaacs.

The reggae artist known as Trinity is one of the music's best-known rappers,
known in Jamaica as "toasters" or "deejays" for their key
work at the microphone on sound systems. Born Wade Brammer in1954 and raised
in the tough streets of the Two Mile ghetto in western Kingston, an early
preoccupation with the toasting styles of U Roy and Big Youth kept him away
from crime, leading to a debut single as Prince Charming and more solid early
work released under the name Prince Glen. Bonding closely with fellow deejay
Dillinger brought another name change to Trinity at Channel One studio, which
enabled his debut album, Shanty Town Determination, produced by Yabby You,
and subsequent breakthrough material for Channel One and Joe Gibbs, the
latter releasing "Three Piece Suit," the blueprint for Althea and
Donna's "Uptown Top Ranking," which would catapult Trinity to
international stardom. Dreadlocks Satisfaction was produced by Bunny Lee for
his Jackpot label in 1979, placing Trinity's witty raps over some of Bunny's
most unusual rhythms, including alternate, rockers-styled Johnny Clarke takes
of The Isley Brothers' "This Old Heart Of Mine" and The Tams
"Riding For A Fall," plus Cornell Campbell's takes of The Sensations'
"Every Day Is A Holiday" and The Heptones' "Why Did You
Leave", Trinity also salutes Dillinger on a recut of John Holt's
"Linger A While".

Spanish Punk Generation and the first Spanish Hardcore Wave. During their 5
years of existence (1979-1984) they only managed to record a demo and two
impossible to find records. A self-titled 7 track 7" EP and "Una
Causa Sin Fondo" a 5 track 12". "La Larga Sombra Del
Punk" compiles both those records plus a 16 pages 11"x11"
booklet with a long interview with the band and tons of pictures and fanzine
clippings. Musically they lay in between the most aggressive parts of VICE
SQUAD, DISCHARGE, ELECTRIC DEADS or even SIOUXSIE AND THE BANSHEES. Fronted
by Silvia Resorte her voice became their trademark always backed by an urgent
band trying to figure out what hardcore was about and a synth player that
created a cold atmosphere over most of their songs. This seminal band hailed
from Barcelona and you can tell with the desperate feeling their songs have.
Their lyrics have that teenage angst feel that only bands from the early 80's
managed to write. Together with RIP, KANGRENA, ANTI-DOGMATIKSS, VULPESS,
DESECHABLES or LARSEN this band helped putting Spain in the international
punk map back in the day.

downtown and failed to acknowledge that this was a return to the real,raw

OswaldOssieThomas began his apprenticeship in the music business at the age
of fourteen and served his time as a record salesman for Bunny Striker Lee
and Winston Niney the Observer Holness before moving on to Miss Sonia
Pottingers Tip Top Records... I ended up working in three record stores on
Orange Street from 1976 to 1981...Yeah man,Me deh pon me bicycle till I buy my
motorcycle..Them days records were coming out left right and centre..everyday
Ossie Thomas... It was during his time with Miss Pottinger that Ossie began
to produce records for himself and in 1979 Ossie and Phillip Morgan began The
Black Solidarity label based deep in the Kingston ghetto on Delamere Avenue.
And the man who had made his name in the business selling other peoples
records now became one of the most important and influential record producers

disc jockey en varias discotecas de Barcelona. Junto a su hermano Manolo,
crean su primera banda de Rock llamada (Satanás) en 1974. En 1980 nace el
grupo Decibelios con el que estaría diez años y grabaría cinco discos. En el
2002 funda el grupo Rivolta con el que editaría un disco. Posteriormente deja
la batería para ponerse a cantar en el grupo Subtrabelios. En el 2014 se
vuelve a reunir Decibelios para realizar una gira tras veinticuatro años
separados. En el 2015 decide poner fin a su periplo musical. Ahora nos cuenta
toda su vida con todo lujo de detalles y como muy bien dice, "En el
infierno también escuchan Rock".

will testify, things have gone even more cosmic. 'Reverse Of Rebirth In
Universe' sees the band return to their old label Riot Season for the first
time since 2012's 'IAO Chant From The Melting Paraiso Underground Freak Out'.
Both label and band have gone on some wonderful journeys during that time
apart but both felt the stars were finally correctly realigned to renew their
partnership in all things weird. Long time AMT fans will immediately recognise
some of the song titles listed on the album sleeve here. But the songs
themselves have been reworked and transformed far away from their original
versions. New boy Jyonson Tsu's quiet, almost whispered vocals bring a whole
new aura to proceedings, despite the familiar riffs hidden in the depths
below them. It's so laid back in places it's practically horizontal, with
only occasional trademark piercing guitar squeals threatening to destroy the
peace and calm. The whole of side two is taken up with the twenty minute epic
'Black Summer Song' and if this is an indicator to where the AMT mothership
is heading going forwards we're all in for another fucked up and magical ride

Peoplepunks" The NWI scene is on another level to the rest of humanity.
Oh yes, it's going to get weird once you put this shit on. Coneheads are a
basement punk band who have decided to douse themselves in creepy circus
riffs, robot meets alien vocals with science-fiction wackyness. Keep in mind,
it's still punk and damn catchy! Who said weird can't be catchy? They sound
like DOW JONES AND THE INDUSTRIALS on speed or a more manic DEVO. This would
perfectly fit in 1982 but I doubt they were born before 92. Major points for
historical awareness! The rhythm barrels along while solos are interspersed
at six second intervals, desperately played like a blur between a Jerry Lee
Richard piano solo and a fevered banjo picker who lives in an Appalachian cave.
It's hard to find the line between cheap gimmick and true weirdness
sometimes, but this one shows that line with every spin. This band is highly addictive and leaves you stunned!

Repress!!! Nuclear War Now! is proud to present the unsanctimonious pairing
of Demonomancy (Italy) and Witchcraft (Finland), two cults that first shared
a stage at the NWN! Fest Volume IV in 2014 and two of the most promising
trios of primitive black death metal of today. This five-song split
represents the most recent blasphemies conjured by two relatively young bands
that are likely to share the duty of carrying the banner of primitive black
metal for years to come. Demonomancy opens the split with their first
newly-recorded tracks since their 2013 debut full-length album, "Throne
of Demonic Proselytism," also released by Nuclear War Now! Their title
track on this split, "Archaic Remnants of the Numinous," is a
nearly nine-minute churning oration of revulsion that picks up right where
"Throne." left off. Following this original track, and closing
Demonomancy's contribution to the record, is a cover of the infamous Goatlord's
"Underground Church," which is appropriately played at a somewhat
higher tempo and in the same style that has become Demonomancy's signature
sound. The ensuing three tracks are the devilish creations of Witchcraft
(formerly Black Feast), who with this recording continue their series of
demos and split releases, a pattern that is best considered a slow but
measured reveal of their manifest darkness. Not surprisingly, Witchcraft's
share of this release once again successfully raises the ancient specter of
the early works of their fellow countrymen, Beherit. Their three arcane rites
commence with the ominously foreboding "At the Diabolus Hour,"
which ceremoniously opens the pit of hellfire into which the listener later
falls during the following track, "Grave Immolation." Witchcraft's
final song on the release, "Perverted Temple of Goatsodomy,"
noticeably shifts the tempo down to a range that one could categorize as
black doom, of the sort that would likely please the aforementioned Goatlord.
In what many are sure to consider one of the best black metal splits of 2016,
Demonomancy and Witchcraft prove their worth as the next generation of
torchbearers for this dark art.

Kawakami's unmistakable vocals, and a rhythm section firmly based on the
Stoke-On-Trent's beat melded together to create a repetitive mantra-like

Jutila, the production is a perfect example of noise not music pressed into
vinyl, with both high and low frequencies cutting through the mix without
losing any power. Lyrically Nightmare Or Reality focuses on the tragic sights
of war while aurally the record is a full-blown attack on all senses. D-Beat
Raw Punk at its best. 20 years on and many times imitated but never
duplicated. Originally released by MCR Company, this 20 year anniversary

NASTY SAVAGE's classic Demotape "Wage of mayhem" (1984) for the
first time on vinyl spiced up with a lethal selection of rare and unreleased
bonus tracks from the early days. NASTY SAVAGE were the undisputed pioneers
of Florida's Metal scene, arguments can be made that the early 90's Tampa
area Death Metal explosion was a direct result of Nasty Savage, who mixed a
more nihilistic view, lyrically and through onstage horror imagery, than the
Bay Area. Their debut demotape and the additional early tracks collected here
show the band on a more Power Metal oriented approach (at times even leaning
to NWOBHM areas) than the incendiary Thrash artillery of some subsequent
works, but the amount of memorable riffs, a dark evil mood with a few
psychedelic elements and the charismatic vocals of their distinctive frontman
Ronnie Savage, clearly show the fact that even at their inception they were
surprisingly mature and way ahead for their times. The insane, impressive
riffing and Ronnie's high-pitched vocals coin a totally unique sound. Unique,
but you can tell some of the influences, Mercyful Fate, Slayer, the heavier
NWOBHM bands generally. "Wage of Mayhem" is without the slightest
doubt one of the greatest and most influential Metal demo tapes of the 80's.

Max Roach's 1960 masterwork We Insist! is a suite based on the Civil Rights
Movement, and involves variations on the theme of the struggle for African
Americans to achieve equality in the United States, a struggle that is still
all too relevant. Roach began composing with lyricist Oscar Brown Jr. in
1959, with the initial intention of having the suite performed in 1963, on
the 100th anniversary of The Emancipation Proclamation. Featuring the
wonderful Abbey Lincoln on vocals, as well as Booker Little, Julian Priester,
Coleman Hawkins, Olatunji, and more, We Insist! is a truly stunning album,
one that knows no equal from that time or since.

Digitmovies is pleased to release, for the first time on LP, the OST by Carlo
Savina for the spy film "Suicide Mission to Singapore" (original
title "Goldsnake Anonima Killers"). For this OST, Carlo Savina
composed lounge background music, at times dominated by a mysterious Asian
vibe and by sophisticated jazzy vibes. "Gold Snake", the main
score, is interpreted by the fabulous voice of Iva Zanicchi, written for a
symphony orchestra, and accompanied by the New Orlandi choir (the piece was
recorded on 45 RIFI RFN NP 16141). The leitmotif is reprised in a shake
version and a slow danceable version. The well-known actress Yoko Tani, the
film's protagonist, performs the romantic piece "Crazy", which is
also recorded in an instrumental version. The spy aspect of the plot is
emphasized by suspense and action music. For this LP the mono master tapes of
the recording session were used.

began picking up ideas for an industrial hip-hop sound. With the help of
