Originally issued as the debut release from Owen's newly-birthed ROKK RECORDS label. Finally_a classy record from SICK THOUGHTS! Living in an endless storm of chaos has led dapper Drew Owen straight to Born To Blitzkrieg, Sick Thoughts' hot-shot EP A decade into this madness seems like the appropriate time to launch a formal theme song, so it's fitting that 'Sick Thoughts' crashes head-on into hardcore, delivering a classic that's powerful as hell yet trades nothing in terms of hooks. | | |
| | After dominating the Gonerfest stage in Memphis last year, and right on time for their appearance at Funtastic Dracula Carnival in Spain ANGEL FACE is back with their second album. Tokyo, Japan has bred many a band that takes rock n' roll into the stratosphere in ways that no other country can touch. And the proof is in these grooves as Fink (of TEENGENERATE), Hercules, Toyozo and Rayco once again show us how it's done in a way only they can pull off. Halo melting rock n' roll with attitude and more hooks than a pirate convention. | | | | | Automatic Lovers, from Madrid, is a band driven by powerful guitars, gritty riffs, and a deep love for British punk and proto-punk. Their sound blends energetic rock 'n' roll with the speed and attitude of punk, creating songs that are both raw and instantly catchy. Influences such as The Vibrators, Slaughter & The Dogs, The Boys...are channeled through a reckless, fresh energy and a classic old-school rock 'n' roll attitude. | | | | 8055515237573 HEY SUBURBIA | Originally released on Voodoo Rhythm in 2015, Rolando Bruno's Bailazo is full-blast psychedelic Latino cumbia garage. Fuzzed-out guitars, vintage rhythms, and the cheesy charm of a 70's supermarket soundtrack collide in pure DIY madness. Cumbia warped through psych, exotica, and garage rock chaos. From the Asian-flavored freakout of "Thai Cumbia" to the Turkish-twisted groove of "Falafel King" everything gets thrown into the Rolando Bruno shredder. Dusty. Psychedelic. Unhinged. Cumbia like it could've been recorded in 1967. | | | | | Recorded during The Damned's very first live performance at London's legendary 100 Club on 6 July 1976, supporting the Sex Pistols, this historic set captures the raw energy of punk at its explosive beginnings. The recording was made on a Sony cassette recorder, tucked away in a sports bag, onto a Scotch 120 tape, lo-fi, immediate, and unfiltered. From the first chord to the last shouted chorus, the band tears through a killer set of ferocious, fast, and unpolished punk rock, brimming with the reckless attitude and electricity that would define the era. Every track crackles with the excitement of a scene on the verge of exploding, making this more than a live show, it's a time capsule of the birth of British punk. | | | | | Essential collection of early material from New Zealand punk band Desperate Measures, featuring tracks from the 1984 EP and the Wasted Again album (released in 1982 and 1983 respectively), along with a selection of rare additional tracks. Capturing the raw force of an underground punk scene in full flight, these songs are fast, abrasive, and direct, driven by sharp riffs, pounding drums, and a fiercely independent spirit rooted in the early 1980s. The first retrospective of the band's early years to be released on LP, and issued in celebration of the band's 45th anniversary, Broken Bottles stands as a powerful document of a group whose intensity and attitude continue to resonate well beyond their original scene. | | | | 4250933602239 MAD BUTCHER | Generals and Soldiers is the third release from Fatal Blow. The first album "Hope not Hate" captured the band at the start, our second album "Victimized" stepped it up a notch. The band has come into their own with "Generals and Soldiers". We are three working class lads who have an international pedigree. Where we have built up a loyal following. All clean cut and no frills. Our music is heavily influenced by classic Oi! bands from the 70's and 80's. With songs that embrace the skinhead culture, including anti-government and pro-working-class themes. We all grew up in former mining communities, but also paid attention to what is going on around us. Tackling global issues. And the decline of our communities. | | | | 4250933603717 MAD BUTCHER | Fatal Blow are a threepiece street punk band formed by 3 working class lads, from the strong industrial landscape that is South Wales. The group comprises of Cobley (lead vocals, guitar), Wayne (bass) and Kizz (drums). Over two years they wrote 12 new songs addressing immigration, racism, deindustrialisation and class injustice, recorded at Red Rock Studios. | | | | 4250933601928 MAD BUTCHER | The band started as a side project of The Oppressed. Paul was writing several song's regarding today social climate and the rise of the far right in ope as Brexit and Immigration was all over the media. The songs had a positive response from Roddy and Kizmus, they both encouraged me to continue writing and Fatal Blow started taking shape as a band in it's own right. As much as we love Oi! There seemed to be a theme of drinking, football and working-class pride in a lot of bands song's, I feel this has been done to death and for me never had a message. However, bands like the Upstarts, Ruts and The Oppressed and similar bands had great song's that also put over a message about society, government, fascism etc. When Roddy knocked it on the head with The Oppressed due to ill health, we decided to get a permanent bass player in and do the band full time. Nidge stepped in on bass and we started writing and rehearsing ready for the next step of releasing a new album and getting the band out on the live circuit. Cd contains also the 9 tracks of the first album.Value for money. | | | | | Minneapolis-based Fret Rattles bring their own approach to the sounds of late 60's Detroit (MC5, Stooges), 70's punk-rock (Radio Birdman, Sonic Rendezvous Band) and the 90's underground rock revival (Hellacopters, Dragons). The final result is straight-forward rock-n-roll that is not retro but instead alive, fresh and more relevant sounding than ever! | | | | 0602561258106 OJO DE MUJER | Joo Gilberto's 1970 En México captures the bossa nova legend in exile, blending Brazilian classics, boleros, and standards with his signature whisper-soft vocals and minimalist guitar. Recorded during his stay in Mexico City, the album features gems like "Bésame Mucho" and "Ela é Carioca," offering a delicate, cross-cultural set that highlights Gilberto's timeless, introspective style. | | | | | A punk band from Santa Cruz blends fast skate punk with hardcore, known for their "intellectual aggression" and melodic yet intense sound. Their lyrics, led by Russ Rankin, focus on social justice, animal rights, and political critique, highlighting punk's activist roots. Still relevant today, they continue releasing new music and touring globally, using punk as a platform for change. | | | | | Released in 1978, "Get It Out'cha System" was the follow-up to "Feelin' Bitchy", which went gold in 1977 and spawned two hit singles. The first single taken from "Get It Out'cha System" was Jackson's beautiful take on the Kenny Rogers ballad 'Sweet Music Man' which reached #33 in the US soul singles chart. Other tracks on the album covered familiar Jackson territory from the tender 'He Just Wants To Hear The Words' to 'Logs And Thangs' where Jackson warned her man that if he did not light her fire then she'd put another log in her fireplace! This was the Millie Jackson her fans loved. Out of print since 1978, Spring are delighted to put it back into the system again complete with liner notes from our own Ian Shirley. | | | | | Berlin, 1989. Two years after their explosive debut, Jingo De Lunch returned with Axe to Grind, harder, heavier, and more confident than ever. Originally released on Hellhound Records, this album confirmed their place among ope's top punk crossover bands. Fast, sharp, and fiercely melodic, the songs still hit wit raw energy. This remastered reissue, made in collaboration with the original members, restores the album to its full power. Includes lyric insert and printed inner sleeve. Remastered by Danilo Silvestri at Green Mountain Audio Studios, Rome. | | | | 0602561826251 OJO DE MUJER | Originally released in 1962 on Candid Records, The Straight Horn of Steve Lacy finds a young Steve Lacy stepping forward with quiet confidence and a sound unlike anyone else at the time. Stripped of excess and focused on tone, space, and intent, these sessions reveal a musician already thinking beyond convention. The soprano sax cuts clean and direct, moving between sharp angles and lyrical calm, with a small group that listens as closely as it plays. Nothing here feels rushed or ornamental, just music unfolding with clarity and purpose. A remarkable early statement that still feels fresh, exploratory, and deeply personal more than sixty years on. | | | | | The Offbeat Circus was formed in 2022 when musicians with a shared interest in exploring new expressions came together through songwriting firmly rooted in the musical landscapes of the 1960s. One member previously played in Cornflake Zoo, while another remains active in The Lemon Clocks. Moving freely between psychedelic influences, melodic pop, and experimental elements, The Offbeat Circus places atmosphere, structure, musical curiosity, and raw energy at the center of its sound. On this hard-hitting debut LP, The Offbeat Circus lean further into their garage/psych/pop influences, delivering an organic and authentic blend of 70s punk energy and 60s beat. TRACKLIST SIDE A: 1. Either you love them or the opposite. Clearly there are influences from early rock bands as Velvet Underground and Rolling Stones and others. But they make something completely of their own out of it with accordion, guitar, biscuit jars, granny's radiator and some other stuff. 1972 they were awarded a Swedish Grammis. Of course there was no one to receive it. The Grammy awards were shut down for 15 years after that. Comes with a bonus 12" where Philemon Arthur play a Bob Hund track, and Bob Hund play Philemon Arthur. | | | | 4250933603663 MAD BUTCHER | The first ever reissue of the 1989 album from influential UK Anarcho Punk band Potential Threat. Originally only released in Germany and never repressed. Dark, catchy and haunting politically charged metallic Anarcho punk, loaded with thought provoking lyrics and some of the best vocals ever. The production is thick, powerful and warm like anger burning, the drums are pummeling and energetic, the guitar riffs are always relevant with a fantastic crunchy punk sound. They had everything, the music, the lyrics, the records on Mortarhate, the looks and most of all a phenomenal female singer. The band existed from 1981 to 1988 recording two Eps, two LPs and were featured on many of the outstanding essential compilations of the day (The Other War, Blood Money, Miserable Bastards, This is the A.L.F.) | | | | | The Prize, a Melbourne-based power pop band, announce their debut album In the Red, blending punk, hard rock, and new wave influences. The album follows their 2022 EP and features singles like "First Sight," recorded across multiple studios with various collaborators. Despite lineup changes and touring delays, the current band continues to refine their energetic sound while members explore side projects. | | | | | At last, Tokyo's RAW DISTRACTIONS release their debut LP after a couple of demos and four singles on Hardcore Survives and Pogo 77. RAW DISTRACTIONS have been raised onthe catalogue of Beat the System, Clay Records and Riot City. They play lean and hard hitting UK82 punk with some raging guitar work and a gutteral vocalist who spits and snarls but never forgetting the hook. It's instant, raw and unhinged and would sit perfectly next to Charged GBH, One Way System and The Exploited but with that Japanese magic dust. This is raw punk but hard and melodic rather than overblown. | | | | 4250933602628 MAD BUTCHER | | | | | 4250933602604 MAD BUTCHER | RED LONDON was formed in 1981 in Sunderland, UK as a left-wing Skinhead band that most of all mixed socialist ideas with the working class mentality. Anthemic Oi! with nods of early protest folk and the New Wave atmosheres that were so popular among their contemporaries. This band is a great example of Early Eighties political Punk Rock which needs to be rediscovered for shure. Official re-release of their first album from 1984. | | | | 0602561952134 OJO DE MUJER | Released in 1972, Riff Raff is a bold statement from a British prog quartet exploring the intersection of rock and jazz-inflected textures. The album moves between blues-tinged grooves, melodic prog passages, and expansive jazzy-rock moments, all anchored by tight rhythms, expressive guitar, and organ flourishes. Standout tracks like the opener and La Même Chose show off the band's adventurous spirit, balancing precision with spontaneity. Though the variety of songwriters gives the album a loose, exploratory feel, it remains a compelling and inventive record, a rare glimpse of a band pushing the boundaries of early-70s progressive rock. | | | | 4059251750307 SUNNY BASTARDS | Shout it out loud: We are the underground! The working class is fed up, they go out, start the revolution, dance and sometimes fight to the beat of RIOT CITY RADIO's songs. Are these clichés? Of course. But every punk rock & Oi! has always been based on clichés. Just like any other subculture. So it's not a bad thing. On the contrary, it's fun. Especially with RIOT CITY RADIO, because their songs are instantly catchy anthems with perfectly balanced songwriting between powerful chorals, awesome singalongs and with raw, violent edge, and an addictive factor! An ode to subculture, underdogs and solidarity, distancing oneself from this sick society and all its unnecessary excesses. And RCR mean every single word of their songs and have a lot to say! With their second album 'Spitting Teeth,' the band from Plymouth,UK blasts off with a charismatic street punk and Oi! explosion! Music with skill, hard punch, and a kick-ass street attitude. | | | | | SALAMIRECORDER's album Inside The Cage delivers a stylish 60s garage rock sound, recorded entirely solo on a 4-track tape recorder. His music blends raw garage punk with early power pop, reflecting both rebellious spirit and a heartfelt approach to love songs. | | | | 4250933601621 MAD BUTCHER | After laying solid groundwork since their debut album and opening shows for the likes of descendents, the interrupters, T.S.O.L and tiger army. Sharp/Shock are about to release their 2nd record via Alkaline Trio's "Heart and Skull" label in the USA, with mad butcher handling the vinyl and cd pressing for mainland ope. Staying true to their DIY ethics, the album was recorded by their own frontman and producer-engineer, Davey Warsop (known for his studio work with the likes of Bad Cop Bad Cop, World Be Free and Vanishing Life). | | | | | SUICIDAS, a punk band based between Barcelona and Vienna, have spent 14 years releasing melodic, high-quality early-punk-inspired singles while avoiding trends. In 2024, they recorded their first full-length album Canciones Malditas, adding a second guitarist to expand their sound. The album delivers 11 catchy, melodic punk anthems influenced by classic bands like the Ramones, blending sharp energy with timeless appeal. | | | | | Jacklyn records is famed among soul record collectors thanks to three great Darrow Fletcher 45s issued on the label in the mid-60s. The imprint was owned and run by his father, Johnny Haygood, and provided Chicago soul fans with many great discs over its seven-year existence. As ever with small labels, the virtually unknown artists provide highlights - in this case, the solo singers Pam Colquitt and Bobbie Brown, who had one-off releases but with two great sides on each. The vastly better-known blues stalwart Mighty Joe Young ventured effectively towards soul on his two sides and Chicago studio musician and arranger Joe Savage got his only artist credit on the right-on instrumental (with chants) 'All Power To The People'. These tracks add up to a fascinating and entertaining chapter in the rich history of Chicago soul music. SIDE ONE 1. LOVE TRAIN - LOVEMASTERS 2. AIN'T THAT SOMETHING - PAUL SMITH 3. Those festivals are often regarded as the starting point of the music movement. It's convenient having a fixed date of course, but as with any historical event, it was the product of a process, with one thing evolving into something else. So while the date isn't historically valid, the Gärdet festivals' importance to the music movement is unquestionable. This was the first time that several of the soon to be most important bands presented themselves to a larger audience. Most bands didn't have a record contact at the time, and some of them would never get one, such as Det opeiska Missnöjets Grunder and Låt Tredje Örat Lyssna In & Tredje Benet Stampa Takten. In short order an illustrious collection of producers, including Dimitri From Paris, Kenny Dope, Dave Lee, Joe Claussell were turning in mixes that filled floors. Dimitri and Joe's mixes topped the UK vinyl charts and others were close behind. Now, with "Spring Originals", we are spotlighting the original versions of the songs that were reimagined on the 12"s and the compilation album that accompanied them. We went back to the original tapes and unearthed not just the commercially released versions, but mixes that have either never seen the light of day, or remained on rare original promos or B-sides. So, Millie Jackson's 'We Got To Hit It Off' which Dimitri reworked is here in its Jim Burgess mix, only previously available on a rare promo 12" back in the day. The same is true of Joe Simon's 'Love Vibration', where the disco mix was hidden on the flip of a 7". With Fatback Band's 'Night Fever' we unearthed a previously unheard full-length version that begins with an insane percussion break perfect for mixing. SIDE ONE 1. The record balances homage to bands like Lama and Minor Threat while exploring diverse styles, from UK82 tension to melancholic and glam-punk influences. Overall, it delivers fast, memorable hardcore while expanding the genre's boundaries with new moods and textures. | | |
