LAGHONIA - GLUE (VINILISSSIMO)
Reissue of the debut album by Laghonia, one of the most important bands of
Peruvian rock. Originally released in 1960, "Glue" will be
cherished by lovers of Latin American rock, pop and psychedelia as practiced
by other similar classic bands such as Traffic Sound, We All Together, Black
Sugar and Telegraph Avenue.
180g vinyl. After four brilliant singles, in 1969 the Peruvian band New
Juggler Sound, formed by Saúl Cornejo (guitar), David Levene (lead guitar),
Ernesto Samané (bass), Carlos Salom (organ) and Manuel Cornejo (drums),
changed their name to Laghonia and released their debut LP "Glue"
on the MAG label. The album included those previously released tracks, which
were very influenced by the British rock scene of those years, to which they
added fiery guitars bursting with fuzz and wah-wah, the ever present and
hypnotic Hammond
organ sound and Latin American percussion and rhythms. The result was a
wonderful mix of mid-60s British beat melodies, Jimmy Hendrix's intense rock,
Cream's heavy blues and Santana's Latin rock. "Glue" is regarded as
one of the key albums of Latin American psych and garage rock, and is an

The Arrogants began their musical archaology first as a 14-year-old duo, then
as a 15-year-old trio . . . Then with an organist, as a quartet, they were
ready to be heard by the wider world, with their debut EP, (Introducing the
Arrogants on Dirty Water). And now, with the addition of a fifth band member,
a rhythm guitarist, to further fill out their sound they are ready with their
first long-player. Whilst digging the sounds of the past, they have
successfully developed their own reper-toire, writing their own songs and
gaining recognition by playing as support to their heroes The Pretty Things
and appearing at the Lille Vintage Weekend in front of 15,000 strong crowd.
Produced by French Londoner Healer Selecta (aka Yvan Serrano) and mastered by
Pete Maher, these eleven tracks were recorded at the vintage studio of the
National Belgian Corporation in just three days. Serrano remembers seeing the
sixteen-year-old Arrogants on stage for the first time, It was a strange
feeling, as though I was watching an original garage band. Their garage sound
is pure, minimal and wild. To make true sixties garage, it should have this
youthful energy and not over-do the technical ability to make for a real
musical experience.

Table. The album peaked at 42 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers chart.The
album's title track "Strictly Rude" is largely derived from Althea
& Donna's Uptown Top Ranking which topped the UK charts in February 1978. While
most of the song's lyrics have been rewritten to bear little semblance to the
Althea & Donna version, the song's chorus sees the original line
"Strictly Roots" changed to the track and album's title, "Strictly
Rude".Possibly the album's biggest hit, it rose to popularity based on
its popular DIY music video that is rising in popularity on YouTube and other

If you like your death-metal old, filthy and dirty while waving a middle
finger in the face of all those so-called modern morons, one could say the
only thing you need to know about Melbourne's BLACK JESUS is that their sole
demo from 2009 was re-released on vinyl by HELL'S HEADBANGERS. Considering
this esteemed label past with rotten sounding bands like NUNSLAUGHTER or
GOUGE, you know right away you're in safe hands and that there are good
chances that this new lot worships the altar of IMPETIGO, early NAPALM DEATH,
REPULSION and embraces overall the genre's true spirit, before corporate
fucks, triggered drums and PC lyrics started demolishing it piece by piece.
Originally released on CD through a limited run of 500 copies only in March
2014, BLACK JESUS first proper album 'Everything Black Everything Dead' best
asset is its brutal honesty and straight-forwardness and you can hear the
canons rolling in as the "For Those About To Die" intro kicks
things in and never lets go for the next thirty-two minutes. Even if mainman
Adrian Naudi most notably spent some time with THE BERZERKER, he knows his
classics and swore to stick to the rules set out by the first MOSH series and
all those great early WILD RAGES records. Rudimentary and raw yet never
clumsy nor primitive for the sake of sounding primitive, they've incorporated
thrash riffing, D-beat tempos and hardcore attitude into their sound, making
it as compact and as in-your-face as possible. Masterfully produced by Jarro
Raphael from NOCTURNAL GRAVES and DESTROYER 666, 'Everything Black Everything
Dead' is a fist in the face of today death-metal scene and gets here the
glorious vinyl treatment it deserved all the way, courtesy of DOOMENTIA of

This is the first ever vinyl pressing of 061502, capturing the band's final
live performance. "This is your last chance." That statement near
the tail end of the final Botch show says it all. Starting out as hardcore
kids from Tacoma, Washington, over the course of eight years
they morphed into one of the most iconic and influential bands of their
generation. After breaking up, the members wound up in so many renowned projects
(Russian Circles, Minus the Bear, These Arms are Snakes, Narrows) that some
may argue Botch's mathrock/noisecore was just a stepping stone. But no one in
attendance can deny feeling a void open when the stage lights went up at Seattle's Showbox on
June 15th, 2002. The band had no interest in going out with some pristine,
polished relic. This isn't a studio-quality recording with applause thrown
in. It's a barely contained maelstrom, the band wrecking their instruments
and assailing the audience.

CHROME OVER BRASS - CHROME OVER BRASS
A true DIY project, the debut album from Chrome Over Brass was recorded in a
100% analog process on 2
inch tape at Alex Garcia-Rivera's own Mystic Valley
Studio, a fully analog studio he built with his own hands. Each song is
comprised of one complete drum performance on a simple 5 piece drum set (made
by Alex himself), with no digital editing. Even guitar and bass tracks were
recorded in singular takes; a true rarity in today's cut and paste music
world. Side-A opener "Elephants Never Forget" stomps out of the
gate as a phased out exercise in post-everything heavy. While "Bear
Attack", "Crush On The Derbyshire", and "Here Come The
Stukas" all collectively pick up the pace, introducing technical speed
and simple riffing with epic results. Side-B begins with even more impressive
musicality in "Black Rainbow" and "Fighting With Tooth And
Nailgun". While synth drenched psychedelic jam "Moogs for
Moderns" grants some moments of sonic serenity. That's not all,
"Jeeps On Safari" cleverly emerges from the haze with a hook laden
bounce, leading to wild closer "One Night In St. Regis". A hyper

CIRCLE - MILJARD (3LP)
Like with any group of tireless, fearless, infinitely creative artists, to
discuss one album by Circle is to discuss a snapshot. In the course of over
20 years, and over 30 albums, the Finnish band has explored more genres than
most people can name. They have been savage metalheads, trippy prog
disciples, deftly accurate Krautrockers and purveyors of otherworldy folk. In
other words, to hear one record is to hear a moment static in time that may
possibly never be revisited again. The moment here is Miljard, a 2006
instrumental album where the band chose to push themselves further than usual
by assuming the form of ascetics working in the sparse realms of ambient
music. There is no form here, at least none that can be picked up casually.
The opening melancholy keyboard line of "Parmalee" illustrates the
heart of the record: simple webs of melody used to stitch together brooding,
fractured, disparate sounds that meander, skitter, rumble and squeal through
all ten tracks. Each one has been recorded to impart a sense of mood and
theme. The slow builds and recessions; the moments of mania that disappear
like delusions; the depth of field between the instrumentation; they create a
fully realized atmosphere whether a song is only few minutes or runs to over
twenty. No single photo can define someone, and each Circle record only
grazes their sweeping, stunning career. But as a stand- alone piece, Miljard
fascinates, challenges and confounds every time you revisit it.

forget the sweat of hard working musicians. Maybe we would need a nose clip,
if all of this could be emitted through our stereo. The funny thing is, that
listening to music, that evokes these associations is really fun - the more
as if its performed with the skills of a band like this. "7 Devils
(Crazy Love Records) is the welcome re-release of a 16-songs-collection by
Mikey Classic and his fellow rock'n'roll hobos originally provided in 2011.
It includes all the trademark elements presented on the last output "The
Maker" minus the few metal guitar outbursts that are not included here.
The diversity of styles guarantees for an album that is never predictable and
always entertaining. "Sidewalk Slammer" is similar to the
backwood-psychobilly- madness presented on "Gutterbilly Blues"
(2007), led by manic, distorded vocals. "Instant Major Felony"
brings a bit of parisienne musette-mood on the akkordeon that leads us into a
dark circus freakshow, while "Y'all Motherfuckers Need Jesus" is a
twisted mixture of melancholy and doom, madness and revelation.

Since their inception in 2010, the ascent of Jess and her Ancient Ones has
been astounding. With a chart-toppingly successful debut album in 2011 and
the occult surf metal EP Astral Sabbat (2013) under their collective belt,
the group won over many new followers on their North American tour with King

seven to six, and spent months with minds locked inwards together, perfecting

songwriting duties, comments on the great work, " We have been following
our natural need to explore different forms of musical impression, and so
again our sound has evolved one step further. I must say that the change is
most welcomed, for we are not the likes who like to stay in a strangling
doctrine of genre rules of any sort. Music should never be composed in order
to please a crowd. The most important thing is that the composing element is
pleased with the outcome, for only then it may also bring true joy to the

"The album title can be seen as a bridge between the past and now. Some
thoughts, words, and poems from the Aquarian age are bound to everlast and

Luc Orient project born in 1981 after the meeting of Alessandro Corda (former
keyboard player of Revolver, one of the first punk bands in Italy), with
Rrok Prennushi (guitar) and Piero Pieri (vocals). In 1983, produced by Gino
D'Eliso, they released the rare single "Saddle Abebe" (B Side:
About the Weather) dedicated to marathon runner Abebe Bikila. In 1984 Luc
Orient returned to the studio with Gino D'Eliso and prepare an LP with
electronic and funk suggestions. Break the contract with the record company,
the album never will be released. The project Luc Orient interrupted in 1987.

and experimental drummer! These recordings comprise Sandy Nelson's first new
domestic album in 15 years, and include his controversial "Drum

Sandy Nelson was an important contributor to the early days of rock and roll,
and helped fashion what has become known as the original "surf
music".As the first instrumental artist to bring the drums front and
center on a Top 40 hit (1959's million-selling "Teen Beat", which
also featured future Beach Boy Bruce Johnston), the Santa Monica, California
native was declared by Rolling Stone magazine to be "...the father of
the extended rock drum solo".After such achievements as playing drums on
Phil Spector's first hit and a stint as a drummer for The Ventures, Nelson
went on to have many other hits of his own. His lengthy early 60's
experimental pieces were precursors of he psychedelic jams which were to
follow half a decade later. From his early beginnings, all the way to the
present hour, Sandy Nelson remains unique.

POSSESSED - BEYOND THE GATES
When Possessed's second release ,Beyond The Gates" came out in 1986, the
album received mixed reactions by fans and media. The main point of criticism
were not the songs but the sound and the production of the album. If you
listen to "Beyond The Gates", you can hear all the ingredients that
had already made the debut album "Seven Churches" a classic: Jeff
Becerra's guttural and sinister vocals, Larry Lalonde's and Mike Torrao's
shredding guitars and Mike Sus' pounding drums. Again preluded by a
portentous intro, the following 35 minutes provided another chop of unholy,
raw, aggressive, yet a bit more technical Thrash Metal. Following the release
of "Beyond the Gates", Possessed toured Europe
for the first time for a total of three and a half weeks with support from
Voivod and Deathrow. After that, Possessed returned to the United States

remembers in an interview with German cult fanzine Voices From The Darkside.
"I think that both the European tour and the States were both great
tours, they were hard road trips, but extremely worth while and they did a
lot to get our band known." Unfortunately, the true class of
"Beyond the Gates" has always been hidden behind the muddy sound by
producer Carl Canedy (The Rods), who did not not manage to capture the
elemental force and raw energy - especially of the guitars and drums - that
had rocketed Possessed to the peak of the Extreme Metal movement. Exclusively
for the re-release of "Beyond the Gates" on High Roller Records,
producer Patrick Engel (Temple
of Disharmony studios,
i.a. Desaster, Heaven Shall Burn) has laid his hands on the recordings and
brought out the best sound of all available version of the album to date.
Addionally, the re-release of "Beyond The Gates" on High Roller
Records comes with the original fold-out cover (artwork by Ed Repka), just as
the original version of the album on Combat Records.

1936) is one of the most enigmatic figures in the post-war electronic music
scene. He started out with a double qualification: he first became an

teacher of KARLHEINZ STOCKHAUSEN, IANNIS XENAKIS, FRANCOIS BAYLE, to name
just a few. PIERRE SCHAEFFER, the director of the GRM (GROUPE DE RECHERCHES
MUSICALES at Radio France), very soon offered him to edit and work out the
famous Solfège-3LP-Box that was the practical part of his theoretical
manifest "Trait des objets musicaux" and to codirect the class for
electroacoustic music at the National Music Conservatory. During that period
REIBEL worked intensively in the studios of the GRM. He did not only compose
some milestones of electronic music, he also developed a very music-based
theory of electronic music: he included his ideas of musical gesture and game
theory already in the sixties long before anybody else discussed those
issues.

Reverend Beat-Man, Surreal Gospel Blues Trash Volume 2. This series of
electronically recorded hymns are a testament to his confusion of faith,
hope, and the path of the righteous one. A selfproclaimed 'Man of the Cloth',
Reverend Beat-Man has chosen to use the metaphors of an ancient religion
known as Christianity to explain his life and his struggles; through a
performing medium he calls 'Blues Trash'. Though a new member in the clergy
of Christ, Reverend Beat-Man found the Lord Jesus dear to him as young as the
age of 3 years old. But growing up in a strictly religious home, like so many
troubled teens, he rejected his parents and padres and gave into the endless
whirlpool of teenage delight called Satanism. Starting his earliest satanic
music worshiping with the likes of Elvis, he soon found the dark path of
popular recordings and discovered what is simply called Black Metal. He
immersed himself in dark music and the symbols of alchemy, tarot, cabala and
black magic. Even going so far as scarring himself forever with a five
pointed pentagram star on his forearm at the tender age of 15, and made by
his own hands, mind you. It seems the iconography of the one called Satan
soon found themselves imprinted in the body and blood of a young, helpless
Swiss boy. With demonic tracks such as ' I've Got The Devil Inside' or
'Lonesome and Sad', the curious listener can easily eavesdrop into the
twisted world of a broken man taken in by the fiery grips of the Dark Lord.
We see once and for all that these aren't just mere words, but this poor
Reverend of the Lord is actually possessed by the demons he once sang so
intently about. There are plenty home recordings (LONESOME AND SAD , . I WANT
YOU TO FEEL, ANOTHER DAY ANOTHER LIFE, I'M OVER WITH YOU, DON'T STOP TO DANCE

then, MACHETAZO realized they shared a mutual love for what was labelled
'stenchcore' in the mid-80's, that mix of heavy and dark metal with crust and
apocalyptic themes. Both having already collected many side-projects proving
their eclectic taste (death-metal, doom, D-beat etc.), they wasted no time
coming up with a new entity, RUINEBELL. And four years after their debut EP
('Demise in Disgrace') and with now Pekka Koskelo (also from HOODED MENACE)
behind the drum kit allowing Dopi to focus on his spiteful vocal delivery,
they're at it again. And what a scorcher 'Ember's Grave' is... AMEBIX and
AXEGRINDER will once again be proud and more than ever, you can also see
VOIVOD dystopian shadow in the back. But while the martial drums and somewhat
cold wave vibe is still vivid here, clocking at a grand total 21 minutes,
those four new songs showcase a thrashier and more headbanging side while at
a same time leaning towards something more sinister. Just check the subtle
menacing keyboards layers of "The Hermit" or its surprisingly
melodic nudges if you don't believe us... You'll probably never see RUINEBELL
on stage nor will they ever tour but far from being just a one-off thing,
'Ember's Grave' just proves that they keep on growing and aren't planning to
stop anytime soon. Watch out, Armageddon is just around the corner!
