Limited to 500 numbered copies. Live in Utrecht is considered a masterpiece
of Esplendor Geométrico, the cult pioneers of industrial rhythms, and the
best example of the energy of EG's live performances in the eighties.
Recorded 25th November 1989 in the Cultural Centre EKKO, Utrecht - Holland,
with a superb sound quality. Produced for the program De Bovenbouw/Nos-Radio,
Hilversum, Holland. First released by Discos E.G. in 1990 and sold out on
vinyl for 30 years! Except "Signos de energía" (a faster version
than the one in Mekano Turbo album) the rest of the tracks were completely
new at the moment this wonderful record was released. A special edition that
comes, additionally, with an extra LP with seven tracks from the late 80's
that were originally released on cassette: four tracks are from 1987, the
other three are from the studio sessions of Mekano Turbo *1988( but not

The 'black album' projected its impact onto the live performance of a band
that was becoming more and more solid on stage. That tour had many
unforgettable concerts, and among them, the one in Bilbao on a Halloween
night when Manu Chao and Fidel Nadal knew how to connect the frequency of
Radio Bemba. The album that came out of that recording has 'Borreroak baditu
milaka aurpegi' tattooed in its marrow: absolutely devastating and without a
single chink, it can be read in the folds of a work that is more imposing
than aggressive, a faithful reflection of an unrepeatable concert(s). In
addition, 'Hator hator' and 'Oker dabiltza' were played. Think 8 and you'll

Negu Gorriak find a reason for hope: 'Spreading the idea'. This is the title
of an album that is more positive than optimistic, like Spearhead's 'Home',
which leaves behind the darkness of the previous one, but without forgetting
it. The last romantic revolution of the Zapatistas ('people first'), the
beginning of the Irish peace process, the birth of Fermin's first child and
his stays in Central America help to set the context of an album that opens its
fist and shows its hand, although it doesn't extend it to just anyone. It is
one thing to be positive and quite another to err on the side of naivety. A
distant relative of Mano Negra's''Casa Babylon', 'Idea zabaldu' incorporates
a barrage of sounds, many of them Latin, which don't always fit together
smoothly because it loses precision by insisting on crossing too many styles
in the same song and resorting to riffs that are often very clichéd. It also
highlights Fermin's difficulty in adapting his voice to more lilting
registers. A difficulty that he himself acknowledges and avoids by handing
over the microphone to Sorkun (from the band Kashbad) in 'Nire baitan daude
biak' and to Irantzu Silva and Javi Pez in 'Aizu' (pure De La Soul), a
beautiful song to understand AIDS sufferers and fight against their
marginalisation. Positive feelings of internationalist fraternity ('Salam,
agur') alternate with messages of understanding and respect, denouncing
sexism and child exploitation, in favour of freedom of expression and with a
brave confession: 'Inside me the tyrant and the liberator are housed / The
fight begins inside me / Let's free our minds'. Almost full stop. Aim for 8
and stay at 7. Gatefold - 180gr -

Repress!! Ratos De Porao's Crucificados Pelo Sistema (1984) contains all the
fury, the frustration, the rage and the pain of four young ones against the
system in a country that was in the midst of a change from Third World to
trying to fitting into a new social order. The projected image of Brazil with
its beautiful mulatas, exotic beaches and tropical fruit drinks filled them
with disgust, living there in one of the most dangerous cities in Latin
America. Their reality was brutal and they wanted to scream it at the entire
world. Sixteen songs were formed on the same base as what would later be
called 'D-beat'.The Finnish bands from the '80s were really important in the
Brazilian punk scene, just as Discharge was. Simple, fast and straight to the
point. Two classic songs have been added for this special occasion, recorded
for the classic Ataque Sonoro compilation (which also contains Brazilian
pioneers such as Virus 27, Colera, Armagedom or Lobotomia, amongst others).

Come was an English industrial/noise project which was founded in 1979 by
William Bennett, who would later create the infamous power electronics group
Whitehouse after Come disbanded. Other members of Come were J.G. Thirlwell,
who would later leave the group and create Foetus, and Daniel Miller, founder
of Mute Records. The independent record label Come Organisation was created
as a result of the lack of interest other labels showed in the group's
recordings. Hard to find for decades, their 1980 debut album 'Rampton' is
reissued via Susan Lawly.

Gentle
Wilderness was released as a private press LP in 1978. River Sun River Moon
consists of previously unreleased recordings from the same time period.
Ohio/born Rick Deitrick took up the guitar at 16 and decided to approach his
playing as if he was the only guy on an island and the instrument had just
washed ashore one day. Ac/cording to Rick, "I completely divorced my
playing from any formal music knowledge, but it was very important to me to
use origi/nal tuning. During those years, the sixties&seventies, there
was a lot of acoustic guitar playing, often using open tuning as a base. I
wanted to create whole tones without de/tuning and keep access to the complex
sounds stock tuning provided." Rick pressed 500 copies of his tranquil
solo guitar record, Gentle Wilderness, in 1978 on Niodrara Records, and sold
many at performances and directly to music shops who would pay for them. He
gave copies to various libraries and left a few albums in the middle of the
wilderness, next to trails, "so people would find them." Rick
sought inspiration in nature and in particular the various rivers scattered
around the Western United States, often composing songs seated beside them
-and even occasionally perched on boulders in them. He never played the songs
the same way twice and did two passes on each composition in studio. Rick
would sometimes literally come straight out of the mountains and rush to the
studio to record the ideas he'd gathered.

record their latest opus. But probably none is better than Norwegian psych
rockers Electric Eye who locked themselves in a lighthouse off the Norwegian

Repress!! * King Tubbys Hometown Hi-Fi was one the great Sound Systems in
Jamaica. It also proved a fantastic outlet for the Dub Plate Specials cut at
Tubbys studio, providing exclusive cuts to be played out and to intice the
dances audience. The tracks at the time were mainly cut over producer Bunny
Striker Lee rhythms, that Bunny stored at Tubbys studio which was in fact his
home, 18 Drumilly Avenue,Kingston, Jamaica.The versions were given exclusive
plays at Tubbys sound before some finding their way on to vinyl, as the
b-side version cut to its a-side vocal, proving so popular that the records
were often brought for its version side over its vocal counterpart. King
Tubby and Producer Bunny Striker Lee are intertwined in the birth of Dub
Music, after discovering a mistake that made a serious joke (more of which
later...) they went on to release the first pressings of this new musical
genre namely Dub Music. Tubbys vast knowledge of electronics and Bunnys vast
catalogue of rhythms would lay the foundations of what today is taken as a
standard... the Remix / Version cuts to an existing vocal tune. Osbourne King
Tubby Ruddock was born in Kingston, Jamaica on 28th January 1941 and grew up
n the High Holborn Street area of downtown Kingston. He studied electronics
at Kingstons National Technical College and also on two correspondence
courses from the U.Sbegining.A... When he had qualified Tubby began repairing
radios and other electrical appliances in a shack in the back yard of his
mothers home. His work in the early days included winding transformers and
building amplifiers for Kingstons Sound Systems. Tubby built his first Sound System
in 1957 playing jazz and rhythm & blues at local weddings and birthday
parties. His reputation as a man who knew and understood both electronics and
music grew steadily and as the sixties drew to a close.Tubby purchased his
own basic two track equipment. He installed this alongside his dub cutting
machine, a home made mixing console and his impressivecollection of Jazz
albums in the back bedroom of his home at 18 Dromilly Avenue which he
christened his music room. Tubby and Striker were at Treasure Isle Studios
one day while Ruddy from Spanish Town was working with the engineer Byron
Smith. "Tubby and myself was talking when Ruddy was cutting some dub but
Smithy (engineer) made a mistake through we were talking and forgot to put in
the voice. It was two track recording in those days. Ruddy said No Man! Make
it stay! and so they cut the rhythm. When I went over to Ruddys that Saturday
night a dance was in progress and when they played the vocal to the tune...
then he said were going to play Part Two. They never called it Version.. and
then he played the rhythm track.The song was a catchy song and everybody
started to sing along and the deejay started to toast so everything went down
well. On Monday morning I went up and I said Tubbs the mistake we made was a
serious joke. It mash up Spanish Town! The people went wild. So you have to
start to do that now cause when the man put on the Part Two everyone start
singing this song. It played about twenty times. I said you try Tubbs!...Well
the next Saturday night now when Tubby strung up down the farm U Roy said hes
going to play Part Two but Tubby did it different now. He started with the
voice then dropped it out and let the rhythm run and then he brought in the
voice in the middle and from there Tubby started to get really popular. Bunny
Striker Lee Dynamic Sounds upgraded to sixteen track recording in 1972 and
Tubby purchased, again with the help of a deal brokered by Bunny Lee. The old
four track equipment and the MCI console from their Studio B. The four tracks
now gave him far wider scope to work with and he began to create a new
musical form where the bass and drum parts were brought up while the faders
allowed Tubby to ease the vocal and rhythm in and out of the mix. We have
compiled a selection of cuts that were all tried and tested on Tubbys Home
Town Hi Fi Sound System and worked a great set of Bunny Lees rhythms in fine

Back in stock! Mamman Sani Abdoulaye, a legendary name amongst Niger-s avant
garde, presents a singularly unique recording of minimalist organ music from
the Sahara. Dreamy and hypnotic, the sound is unlike anything coming out of
West Africa before or since, closer in effect to early electronic experiments
of Kraftwerk. Recorded in 1981 at the National Radio in Niger, shortly after
Mamman discovered an old Italian organ, the album was a spontaneous
production, recorded in two takes. It was released on cassette but was a
commercial failure, and only a handful were sold. The recordings, however,
were a success, and became the themes to the National radio for the
subsequent 30 years, securing Mamman's place in the foundation of Nigerien
music. Rediscovered in a cassette archive in Niger and digitized on a
portable recorder, "La Musique Electronique Du Niger" was reissued
in 2013 on limited vinyl. Now restored and remastered from the original tape
material by Jessica Thompson.

Calypso
developed into its modern form in Trinidad around the turn of the twentieth
century as a primarily English-language topical song associated with
pre-Lenten Carnival. By the 1920s, Calypsonians, as the singers and composers
were called, performed in "tents" (yards covered by a tarp, union
halls, and such) for the people of Trinidad and for tourists. As early as the
1930s, the genre was gaining a following outside of its homeland: for example
the British writer Aldous Huxley visited a tent in 1933 and wrote with
admiration about calypso singing : " The Calypsonians of Trinidad live
in another 'Zeit': so the 'Geist' they obey is not the same as ours. In that,

CONSPIRACY, THE - DREAM WORLD /
WITH YOU
The Conspiracy hailed from Mount Pleasant, a college town in the center of
Michigan. Originally formed as The Allusions, they became Nino & The
Nomads before changing their name to The Conspiracy in 1966. For the next few
years the group stayed busy on the live circuit. "We were booked all
over the state," remembers singer Aquilino Soriano. "Every weekend
we'd be somewhere. We were about two and a half hours from Detroit, so we'd
go down south, we'd go up north; we'd go everywhere. There was this network
of teen clubs where kids didn't have to be 21 and everybody could go. It was
fantastic." In 1967 the group had what Aquilino describes as
"probably our apex moment". Kustom Amplifiers sponsored a statewide
Battle of the Bands tournament, and The Conspiracy battled through several
rounds of competition to make it all the way to the finals in Saginaw.
"It was a statewide thing that culminated there," remembers
Aquilino. "Question Mark & The Mysterians and a couple of others
that were notables were also in it - and we won it! We got our award from Bob
Seger." The prize was thousands of dollars worth of gigs and a tuck and roll
Kustom PA system, which the band put to use as they moved forward into 1968,
brimming with confidence. A roving Capitol A&R man caught their show in
Cadillac, Michigan, and encouraged them to write some original songs and go
into the studio. So in 1968 that's what they did. 'Dream World' and 'With
You' were recorded at a studio in Grand Rapids and the session turned out
exceptionally well. "It just floored me that we didn't sit down and
write some more songs," says Aquilino, "because I thought we did a
pretty good job." 'Dream World' is particularly great with a soulful
lead vocal, an insistent fuzz guitar line, waves of Hammond organ, a catchy,
harmonized chorus and an insistent dance groove. Shades of The Doors, The
Young Rascals, The Blues Magoos and SRC. A mixdown of the tape was forwarded
to their contact at Capitol Records, but ultimately no deal was signed.
"We were just starting to separate from high school," remembers
Aquilino. "It was the start of that transition. I was Class of '67, they
were Class of '68. There was the war in Vietnam. You could go to college to
avoid the draft. It was a lot of decisions and I guess what happened is
nothing really happened from us recording. I mean they liked it, they made us
an offer, but I think that the parents weren't really happy with that. I
think that there was some dissent in the band too." The Conspiracy broke
up in early 1969 and the tape of the only original songs they ever played
remained unreleased and unheard until 2018, when Soriano brought the original
1" 8-track session tape into Earthling Studios in El Cajon, California,
where it was mixed and mastered by Mike Kamoo for this release. "Getting
this out on vinyl - it's what we dreamed of!" Aquilino grins. "Even

A preview of the forthcoming debut album by The Japanese Girl,
"Sonic-Shaped Life", which will be released by Munster Records in
autumn 2015. The B-side features a cover of Pete Shelley's 'Telephone
Operator', exclusive to this release. The Japanese Girl is a Portuguese band
formed in late December 2013 by Bruno Sousa, Corinna Sousa and Emanuel Cunha.
Starting with two guitars, an organ and vintage drum machines, they
immediately forged a raw and powerful sound somewhere between garage rock and
psych lo-fi, while recently they have been joined by a drummer hammering
through their opiated layers of reverb. Their intense, noise-filled live
performances are accompanied by mysterious visual elements, and besides their
own headlining shows the band has also played with Jacco Gardner, The Wand,
Girls Names and as part of the Reverence Festival Party. In early 2015 they
recorded their "Sonic-Shaped Life" LP at an analogue studio, which
will be released this autumn by Munster Records. As a preview, this 7"
features the album track 'You Should Have Switches', which inhabits a
hypnotic realm between early The Jesus and Mary Chain and Thee Oh Sees, and
an unexpected version of Pete Shelley's 'Telephone Operator' on the B side,

Vallisoletanos Fallen Idols) no dudaron en implicar a otros músicos de bandas
más o menos estables como Ciudad Jardín, Pistones o incluso Los Enemigos.
Estos cuatro temas fueron editados como maxi por la discográfica Twins en
1986. Incluyen un original de Hirschfeld ( top') y tres versiones de corte
60s punk (Dylan, Strangeloves y Them), algo totalmente inusual en estas
latitudes. Una polémica producción de Paul Collins que no hizo justicia a la

O LEVEL - EAST SHEEN
Reissue of this absolute classic of the late 70s UK underground. 'O' Level
was created in 1976 by London guitarist Ed Ball along with two friends from
school, the Benett brothers (John on drums and Gerard on bass), who would
leave the band in March 1978. That same line-up plus Dan Treacy (another
school friend of Ball's) recorded the first Television Personalities single
in 1977, titled '14th Floor'. 'O' Level self-released that same year their
first single, which included three tracks strongly influenced by punk's
energy (Buzzcocks and Undertones guitars and melody on 'East Sheen') and
attitude (with ironic comments about fake punks on 'Pseudo Punk'), but as if
seen from a distance, outside a decadent scene which had already been
absorbed by the establishment. The single also features a sort of homonymous
anthem called `O' Levels'. Ed Ball's music career would go on over the
following decades as he continued developing his own strand of wonderful pop
music through the 80s and 90s with bands such as Teenage Filmstars,
Television Personalities, The Times and many more, plus several records as a

The Rockets were natives of London's Ladbroke Grove, and precursors of UK
punk rock heroes Warsaw Pakt. They played high-energy rhythm & blues with
hard-boiled street-smart lyrics delivered quick and cool against
super-charged Chuck Berry guitar licks. "The Rockets started in 1975,
heavily influenced by Dr Feelgood, who had a residency at the Kensington pub
around the corner," relates guitarist Andy Colquhoun. "It was Brit
R&B. We played half a dozen Bo Diddley numbers, including 'Cops And
Robbers', and 60s tunes such as 'I Fought The Law', 'Don't Gimme No Lip' -
which, pre-Pistols, was a Dave Berry B-side Bo knockoff - and we played numbers
I wrote that eventually got recorded by Warsaw Pakt." The Rockets'
line-up featured lead singer Jimmy Coull, Andy Colquhoun on guitar and
vocals, bassist Oz Osborne (aka "The Anadin Kid") and Dave Rochelle
on drums. "Jimmy Coull has a great R&B voice and was noted for his
taste in wines in large containers at very reasonable prices," says
Andy. Another key figure in The Rockets was Frank Day, who acted as manager
and lyricist. "Frank was, and probably still is, a dapper bloke - a West
London 'smoothie' with a passion for R&B and he booked most of our early
gigs," explains Andy. "He worked for the London council, and as a
croupier, and had enough readies to keep us running. We paid him back, of
course." The Rockets made the rounds on the London pub rock circuit and
around the south and Midlands. In time-honored tradition they also traveled
to Germany - Munich rather than Hamburg -, where five-sets-a-night club dates
shaped and sharpened their sound. In early 1976 they recorded a six-song demo
tape. Two of the best tracks are presented here for the first time: the
tough, cocksure rocker 'Even Money' and the explosive, Who-influenced
'Steppin' Outa Line'. While The Rockets were still rooted in rhythm &
blues, their revved-up approach signaled the changes that were already taking
place in the streets around them. Pub rock and R&B bands were shedding -
or shredding - their old clothes, shearing their hair and reinventing
themselves as the part of a new movement: punk rock. The Rockets found
themselves opening for bands like The Clash, whose leader, Joe Strummer, had
only months before been in R&B/pub rock stalwarts The 101ers. Gradually,
The Rockets' already loud and fast sound became louder and faster. The band
found they were in a state of identity crisis. "We had a review in NME
where they said that we couldn't make up our minds if we were The Pretty
Things or The Ramones," remembers Andy. "It was fair enough."
Before long the group broke apart. "When The Rockets started getting a
bit heavier and faster Frank and Dave drifted away," says Andy. Coull
and Colquhoun brought in rhythm guitarist John Manly, bass player Chris
Underhill and drummer Wolf (later replaced by Lucas Fox of Motorhead) and
became Warsaw Pakt. Significantly, their repertoire still included several Rockets
songs, including 'Steppin' Outa Line' and 'Even Money'. With John Manly's
input, though, 'Even Money' took on a new meaning. "John entirely
re-wrote the lyric," Andy says, "and changed it from a saucy Frank
Day lyric to a tale of junkie despair." Right here, though, you can hear
those two songs in their original form - rough and ready Rocket-powered

Repress! Back in 1969 the original members of Los Saicos, Erwin Flores and
César "Papi" Castrillón, revived the iconic Peruvian band -protopunk
pioneers- with the addition of new musicians and a renovated repertoire.
After signing with the local label DINSA, a new single including the songs
'El Mercenario' and 'Un Poquito de Pena' was released that same year,
although the company finally chose to use the name of the band's singer,
Erwin A. Flores, instead of Los Saicos. This reissue brings back to life this
lost single of Los Saicos discography for the first time, just as it was

Originally released on Munster in 1990, "Más suicidios" was the
first LP by this band from Majorca who in the late 80s revived the original
punk rock genre in Spain. Featuring the band's own compositions, with echoes
of Black Flag, Heartbreakers or Replacements, plus a Controllers cover
('Another Day'). Especially remastered for this reissue. In 1990 Munster
Records released "Más suicidios" by Cerebros Exprimidos, one of the
label's first albums. The band from Majorca had reached beyond their island's
borders with a mini-LP on Romilar-D and a cassette which compiled their early
demos. They were making a name for themselves within the punk scene thanks to
a personal style which blended proto-punk with a classic '77 sound and
California punk. At the time there were no other bands in Spain paying
tribute to Controllers. The album, despite a demo-like sound (it was recorded
by Vicente Caldentell, an experienced musician who had been a member of
Z-66), showed a band that walked confidently between punk and early hardcore.
The recent addition of bass player Cañete, who came from bands with a faster
sound, had provided an extra strength which allowed guitar player Juanmi to
unleash his special style that drew equally from Black and The New York
Dolls. Jaume's straightforward vocals told stories of maladjustment, rage and
cocky attitude. Sleeved in a lysergic cover by Josetxo Ezponda (Los Bichos),
the album was almost unanimously received by the press as a breath of fresh
air. However, the reception within the most traditional sectors of their own
scene was a little colder: too punk rock for hardcore fans, too hardcore for
lovers of classic punk rock. Nevertheless, the LP planted a seed which would
grow over their next two albums, "Bonzomania" and "Demencia",
which along "Más suicidios" would form the holy trinity of the
genre in Spain. 25 years later, Munster reissues this piece of history where
some guys from Palma managed to shake their island and be the centre of

Décima Víctima were a Spanish band that, during their short-lived career
between 1981 and 1984, developed a very personal sound reminiscent of Joy
Division, The Cure and other British post-punk bands. Although commercial
success evaded them, rarely has any Spanish band achieved such a high degree
of quality and coherence in their music and personality. This LP contains
previously unreleased tracks recorded by Décima Víctima in November 1983, one
month before their last concert. Seven of these songs feature different
lyrics to the ones later recorded for the "Un hombre solo" album.
This is the way they performed them that night on the Rock-Ola stage, so this
record can be considered, to some extent, an approximation to their last show

The suite was commissioned to accompany the exhibition of the engravings at
Lithuanian Art Museum. It is an electroacoustic work inspired by Goya's
engravings. It's composed in the form of a classical suite, and uses
symphonic timbres. The titles of the movements take their name from some of
the 80 engravings. The artwork is reminiscent of an engraving and has been
designed by Locktite, nominated to a Latin Grammy for her previous work with
Erizonte "Los Caprichos de Goya" is also a music, video and dance
live show, created by the ERIZONTE company, which has been performed in
Berlin and Madrid. 50 copies of the pressing include a facsimile of the engraving
"El sueño de la razón produce monstruos", made from the original at
Spain's National Engraving Academy.

vinyl reissue of 1987's opera rock by Spain's legendary punk band Eskorbuto.
Housed in a controversial gatefold sleeve, the double LP is a political
satirical work against any kind of dictatorial regime. "Los demenciales
chicos acelerados" is Eskorbuto's fourth studio album, originally
released by Discos Suicidas in 1987. It was their most ambitious project, a
double LP rock opera in the vein of "Quadrophenia" by their beloved
The Who. It tells the story of an unscrupulous young man who wishes to
achieve power at all costs, stepping over everyone and everything in order to
do whatever he wants politically. In the end, he falls due to his ego and is
betrayed by those around him. Hence lines such as "crowds are a nuisance",
"I'll come unscathed out of the attacks planned by my image
consultant" or "shouting in front of the scum". In 1988 band
members Iosu and Juanma narrated the album's concept and story on a Radio
Euskadi show, the Basque Country's public broadcaster. This satirical
political plot also explains the controversial Nazi pictures on the front and
back covers. Eskorbuto were equalling the unprincipled politician of their
rock opera with the Nazis and Franco's dictatorship. It's a conceptual record
that attacks any kind of dictatorial political regime. Although "Los
demenciales..." came out on Discos Suicidas, in typical Eskorbuto
fashion the band stole a copy of the master and sold it to the Twins label,
which also released it a few months later with a different cover. The
original sleeve caused some trouble, to say the least, with its combination
of Nazi photos and the Spanish flag on the back accompanied by the words
"Of national interest". The album contains new versions of a few
previous tracks such as 'Ratas rabiosas' and 'Enterrado vivo' plus the studio
version of 'Más allá del cementerio'. For the recording the band enrolled
keyboardist Aitor Amezaga, who would also collaborate on their next album.
This is the first facsimile vinyl reissue of one of the most piercing albums
in Spain's rock history, by a band whose significance has crossed all kinds

Reissue of this 1999 collaboration between Etant Donnés (Eric & Marc
Hurtado) and Michael Gira (Swans), featuring Mark Cunningham (Mars) and Saba
Komossa (Delkom). The album is based upon the text "Offenbarung Und
Untergang" ("Revelation and Demise"), written by the Austrian
expressionist poet Georg Trakl in 1914. The Hurtado brothers create a
fittingly eerie, somber and desolate soundscape as backdrop to Gira's reading

Federal Duck was one of the many college bands to pop up during the
psychedelic years and made a name for themselves as skilled musicians,
playing numerous gigs over the short span of 4 years. This self-titled debut
album, and only record of the band, includes a number of quality tracks,
mixing elements of jazz, country and, mostly, soft-psychedelia. 'Tomorrow
Waits For Today' stands out as a wonderful piece of jazzy pop psych that
could easily rival the best recordings of the genre. But some will find
'Bird' is the most accomplished song on the album, featuring fierce guitars
and energetic drums, bordering on hard psych. Although this solid LP
successfully mixes such a varied combination of sounds and deserved to have made
a bigger splash when originally released, it has remained overlooked for a

Kim Fowley has been a maverick presence in rock & roll history for over
fifty years: songwriter, recordings with Gene Vincent, Jonathan Richman &
The Modern Lovers and countless others, early manager of The Runaways and
plenty of glorious failures along the way. "Living In The Street"
(1977) is a compilation of his solo recordings, some of them dating back to
the beginning of the decade, taken from several singles, alternative projects
and overlooked b/sides. It also includes three new acoustic songs with a
certain Captain Beefheart's or Dylanesque flavor. "Living in the
Streets" remains a worthy monument to the seventies recordings of the
Dorian Gray of Rock'n'Roll, the human jukebox: the unstoppable Kim Fowley.

First ever career-spanning compilation of the solo work of Jowe Head, an
essential name in the birth and development of the UK's underground scene
through his recordings with Swell Maps, Television Personalities, personal
projects such as Palookas, Househunters and work under his own name. From
1981 debut album "Pincer Movement" up to 2014 recordings by Jowe
Head and The Demi-Monde, plus previously unreleased tracks, these 20 cuts
present Head's wonderful mixture of off-kilter pop and avant-garde weirdness,
like a noise party attended by Joe Meek, Burt Bacharach and Sun Ra. A Record
Store Day 2017 release. If one looks at the galaxy of stars that can be
attributed as source material for today's musical DIY/lo-fi generation, Jowe
Head shines as a true iconoclast. His 1973 addition to the avant-garage
godfathers Swell Maps added an impressionistic edge to their psychedelic punk
pastiche that drew of Max Ernst as ably as Can. Later on in The Television
Personalities and his Househunters and Palookas projects, not to mention a
sprawling solo discography, Jowe's persona injected color and livelihood into
an often-too-cool-for-school post-punk scene around Britain while still
delivering transportative sounds and open-to-the-listener interpretations.
This compendium is in itself a galaxy of sounds that will never fail to

JAPANESE GIRL, THE - SONIC-SHAPED
LIFE
Debut album by The Japanese Girl, a hypnotic record that will surely put this
band from Oporto at the forefront of Europe's psych-rock scene. The Japanese
Girl is a Portuguese band formed in late December 2013 by Bruno Sousa,
Corinna Sousa and Emanuel Cunha. Starting with two guitars, an organ and
vintage drum machines, they immediately forged a raw and powerful sound
somewhere between garage rock and psych lo-fi, while recently they have been
joined by a drummer hammering through their opiated layers of reverb. Their
intense, noise-filled live performances are accompanied by mysterious visual
elements, and besides their own headlining shows the band has also played
with Jacco Gardner, The Wand, Girls Names and as part of the Reverence
Festival Party. In early 2015 they recorded "Sonic-Shaped Life",
their debut album. It was put down on tape at Oporto's renewed studio Sá da
Bandeira by Cláudio Tavares and Joao Brandao, and mastered by Miguel Pinheiro
Marques at SDB Mastering. Leading single 'You Should Have Switches', released
in September, gave the first clues about their own brand of hypnotic rock,
where pulsating psychedelia, droney garage and shimmering, trippy pop provide
the setting for haunting compositions, catchy hooks and engaging melodies.
Over the course of ten tracks, the band sounds commanding in the darker
passages or punked-up outbursts and shine in the more sunny, coloured
moments, while the flow and pace of the album produce a wholly entrancing

Yes, there is rock, but it's so deformed that not even no wave could help you
make sense out of it. Imagine if a bunch of viruses filled with fake news and
contemporary nastiness would go straight to the core of no wave, punk and
rock's integrity> authenticity. Not to say that the Butthole Surfers were
the most authentic band in the world or that this record matches the
production of El/P, but instead here you have some of the most exciting
musicians in Berlin coming together for the first time, interpreting some
lyrics from Mattin, dealing with our fucked up times and the search for
overcoming them. To say that there is no authenticity is not to fall into the
postmodern relativism that has been a debilitating force in the struggle
against the new wave of neo fascism. In fact, the latter also claim their own
authenticity> race realism. Nor surprisingly, authenticity was also at the
core of Heidegger, which somehow connects National Socialism and its French
deconstructionist critics. Even if this record for some might sound like
deconstructed rock through electronic noise and improv, it is also doing
something else like building a Frankenstein monster in the form of
rock/as/zombie/avatar> as if Lou Reed would haunt us from the other side
connecting the motherboards of our devices to our brains, giving us all
electroshocks for not being able to stop this fascism/as/the/new/punk regime,
while he shouts at us> they got the traction on danger and you need to
take it back!

three singles published by Valencia's cult band Modificación in the early 70s
as well as the remaining unreleased recordings from the same sessions, crafted

number "Across the Time", that has found its rightful place, over

"Batiscafo" by Gregorio Paniagua is one of these elusive treasures.
First released in 1980 on Hispavox, the album disappeared after a short run
and no further editions in any format have been available until now. Paniagua
is a classically trained musician and scholar of music with an extensive and
fruitful history of researching, recording and rediscovering ancient music
and has toured across the world to great critical acclaim. In 1980 he shut
himself off from the world every night for a whole month to record
"Batiscafo": a record that seeks to emulate Mike Oldfield's Tubular
Bells and which vanished all too soon, becoming the Holy Grail of Spanish
experimental music. "Batiscafo" anticipated a wave of avant-garde
Spanish music in the 80s with key figures such as Suso Sáiz, Pep Llopis,
Ishinoana or Finis Africae who are now being rediscovered and admired outside
Spain. It is a highly original and imaginative record that continues to
surprise listeners forty years on, with its bold combination of early electronic

PARAISO - EL CORTE FINAL (+CD)
Paraiso was one of the most essential bands of the Spanish new wave scene in
the 80s also known as "La Movida". It is only now, over 40 years
after its recording, that we are thrilled to present Paraiso's lost album
that never got released at the time. Featuring a tracklist as selected by the
band, "El Corte Final" comprises the result of two different
recording sessions from 1979, showing how fresh, fun and also potentially
commercial the group was. Paraiso recorded a hard to beat selection of pop
gems under the influence of The Modern Lovers, Devo (whose song ongoloid'
they would cover) or The Specials. "El Corte Final" includes
extensive liner notes by José Antonio Lago, previously unseen photos and
pictures of the fanzines originally published by Paraiso. Every LP comes with

PAX - PAX
Pax is the forerunner of hard-rock in Latin America. The group was led by
Pico Ego-Aguirre, former member of Los Shain's, iconic '60s garage band from
Peru. Three young Peruvians and a North American, all under the age of 23,
put together an album with lyrics in English, vigorous guitar solos, double
bass drum set and a record sleeve suffused with symbology. It was released in
1972 and is considered foundational and was recorded under the influence of
bands like Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin or Deep Purple. Reissued here in its
original gatefold-artwork, includes an insert with extensive liner notes.

Along with Speakers, Flipper's, Beatniks, Ampex and Streaks, The Silver
Thunders were responsible for one of the most exciting chapters of the early
rock years in Bogotá, Colombia. Eccentric and volcanic, the quartet recorded
an album in 1968 which wasn't released at the time. Rescued from old cassette
tapes, that recording finally comes out five decades later, displaying the
rebel spirit of a group influenced by Mersey beat, surf and garage. "Me
gritan melenudo" contains 'Alma agobiada', their only original
composition, plus raw covers of The Beatles, The Monkees, The Troggs, Lovin'
Spoonful, Miriam Makeba and The Ventures. It also includes two more Beatles
songs and a couple of covers from the Wild In The Street soundtrack recorded
in 1970 by Los Yoguis, as the group was known at the end of their short-lived
career. Plus many photos, a family tree and the detailed story of the band.

Like a long drag of hashish in the morning when the alarm clock rings in the
open air, the synthesis that works in this album is aromatic, hypnotic,
luminescent. somewhere between Hispalis and the Catalan Mediterranean.
Spanish guitar and flamenco metonymies flourish on this transitional
instrumental work that ablutions in flamenco waters, scented with folk-blues
salts. This 1973 album is seminal in creating flamenco fusion. The arid but
magnetic notes of the first track on the album, 'Sardana Flamenca' delve
deeper into the subconscious, which Soler recorded on his own with his
Spanish guitar, except the electric pieces where members of the band OM
helped out. Reissued on vinyl for the first time. Includes an insert with

The Surprise Package was comprised of members from The Viceroys and The
Galaxies. These two bands were regulars at regional teen fairs and often
played alongside The Sonics and The Wailers. The Surprise Package recorded

VAUGHN, BEN - TEXAS ROAD TRIP
Munster is proud to continue its lasting relationship with Ben Vaughn with
the release of his new album, "Texas Road Trip". As the title
implies, the record is a captivating stylistic journey through the immensely
rich music tradition of the Lone Star Estate. Recorded in Austin with a
stellar band featuring Sir Douglas Quintet's Augie Meyers and top Texas
musicians such as Alvin Crow, Speedy Sparks, John X Reed and Mike Buck. Texas
music has always been a big mess, and that is probably the biggest single thing
that has made it stand tall. There are so many wild strains running through
it - from blues to country to jazz to soul to rock to, yes, even hip hop-
that it's impossible to keep track of what's what. But confusion is good,
because as long as a listener can't quite pin down what makes their monkey
nerve twitch they'll keep coming back for more. Ben Vaughn got bit early by
the heat in the Texas beat. More specifically, as a young kid in New Jersey
Vaughn tuned into San Antonio's Sir Douglas Quintet. There was a wildness in
the Quintet's hit 'She's About a Mover', some wiggliness that just would not
stop. Sir Douglas Sahm and his cohorts had the magic in them. There was no
other way to put it. It was like there was a fire burning in the Quintet's
collective soul that could not be put out. Vaughn also has that fire, and in
a dream come true he's gone to the source in Texas to record an album with
several Sir Douglas veterans, including main keyboard man Augie Meyers. That
alone is like having the Crown Prince on hand. Then there's Alvin Crow,
Speedy Sparks, John X Reed and Mike Buck. With a musical bunch like that
there is no way to miss the bull's eye. Ben Vaughn has delivered an album
full of original songs, ones that capture the wild wind of the Sir Douglas
Quintet while adding some modern velocity to the sonics, that will light up
the skies and surely make even Sir Doug himself smile as he floats through
the cosmos making sure the groove never stops. Far-out for sure. Bill Bentley
