Herman Chin/Lay operated out of his Aquarius Record shop at Half Way Three
,Kingston ,Jamaica. It is from this base that he started his recording
studio where he not only put out the first ever Dub album quarius Dub' but
was also responsible for naming future artist Horace Swaby. By allowing him
to use his exotic fictitious working name ugustus Pablo' for his own
recording career. Although called quarius Dub' the tacks that make up this
album were cut at Dynamic Sounds, Harry J's and Randy's Studio 17. It was
not long after this release that Herman opened the first ever twenty four
track studio Aquarius Studios. We have compiled this set of Dub tracks
that were worked on at Aquarius studio's itself. Using the legendary studio
for some of the recordings and&or it's mixing and voicing facilites. Hope

remarked that all the tracks on the single were just as good: this was the
beginning of a lengthy relationship between the group and the DJ that
spawned four sessions and multiple airings of their material including the
LP Playing With A Different Sex. Although their songs were sometimes
requested by listeners, none of their material made the Festive Fifty and
their split meant that they were absent from JP's show until the 2000s,
when John was inspired to revisit them from a Rough Trade compilation.

metal band Darkthrone, released on 26 February 1992 through Peaceville Records.
Recorded at Creative Studios in August 1991, it marked Darkthrone's transition

Regarded as a classic within black metal, it forms part of Darkthrone's "Unholy
Trinity" alongside "Under a Funeral Moon" and "Transilvanian Hunger".
Notably, it was the final album featuring bassist Dag Nilsen. In 2020, the
album was selected for permanent exhibition at the National Library of
Norway due to its cultural significance and pivotal role in the Norwegian

singer Price Alla . Prince Alla had formed a group called ¶he Nazarines'
with Roy Palmer and Milton Henry, so music was all around Junior Ross and
he would soon follow in their footsteps and start recording some of his

back in stock! King Tubby's Hometown Hi/Fi was one of the great Sound
System in Jamaica. It also proved a fantastic outlet for the Dub Plate
Specials cut at Tubby's studio, providing exclusive cuts to be played out
and to entice the dance's audience. The tracks at the time were mainly cut
over producer Bunny'Striker'Lee rhythms, that Bunny stored at Tubby's
studio, 18 Drumilly Avenue, Kingston, Jamaica. The versions were given
eclusive plays at Tubby's sound before some finding their way on to vinyl,
ass the b/side version cut to it's a/side vocal. It proved so popular that
the records were often brought fir its version side over its vocal
counterpart. We have compiled a selection of cuts that were all tried and
tested on Tubby's Home Town Hi/Fi Sounf System and that worked a great set
of Bunny Lee's rhythms in fine style. Some of these cuts found a release as
version b/sides but many on this set were exclusive Dub Plates unreleased
until now. As Cornell Campbell says on track one of the set "King Tubby and

Back in stock! "Truth", "Senses", "I.C.B." and "Dreams Never End" (recorded
26 January 1981) would be later recorded with Martin Hannett and released
on Movement. The 1982 session caught the band still in search of a new
musical direction. "We All Stand" and "5-8-6" appeared on the subsequent
album Power, Corruption & Lies. The songs "Too Late" and "Turn the Heater
On", the latter a Keith Hudson reggae cover, were only ever recorded for
the Peel session, and neither were ever performed live. "Turn the Heater
On" was known to be one of Ian Curtis's favourite songs and it was for this
reason that New Order recorded their version as a tribute to him. Ian's
admiration of reggae artists, such as Keith Hudson and Toots and the Maytals,
is mentioned by his wife Deborah Curtis in her book Touching From a
Distance. These tracks were broadcast on 1 June 1982, though were
presumably recorded in spring 1982.

sound. The twenty-minute title track unfolds from a tightly locked

motifs widen the frame while clarinet, bass and brief vocal calls from

spotlighting melody, the piece builds through steady, patient accumulation.
'Al Hathayan' sharpens the focus, with Conca's clarinet shifting between
flowing lines and clipped rhythmic figures against restless loops and raw
percussion. On 'Al Maraya', electronics, bass and clarinet create depth
without excess, opening space within the rhythm. Closer 'Assarab',

Back in stock! The Pretty Things' second album, Get the Picture? (released
December 1965), has not only been remastered from original session tapes so
the group sounds like their amps are practically right in your lap, but
it's also been expanded to 18 songs with the addition of tracks cut for
singles and EP releases from the same sessions. That's enough to recommend
it even to casual fans -- this is now a record that's just a few notches
short of Rolling Stones level in the charisma department, and pretty tough any
way you want to look at it. On "Rainin' in My Heart," they sound exactly
like the Stones from the same era, missing only the little harmonica
flourish that might have been added on the break. The liner notes go into
the history of the group during this period in delightful detail, and the
histories of various songs, most particularly "L.S.D.," which, amazingly,
was cut as a demo and never redone for release, but just put out the way it
was. In their good moments here, the Pretty Things approach Rolling Stones'
territory, and even in their off moments, they're flying at the same level
as the Kinks' album tracks

Created for Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom, the final film by Pier Paolo
Pasolini, this soundtrack traces the chilling emotional arc of one of
cinema's most confrontational works. Classical compositions of poise and
restraint sit in deliberate opposition to the cruelty unfolding onscreen,
sharpening the film's sense of moral rupture. In the weeks surrounding the
film's completion, Pasolini was murdered in Ostia, Italy. In response,
Ennio Morricone composed `Addio a Pier Paolo Pasolini', a solemn farewell
that appears in the final edit and anchors the soundtrack in grief as well
as defiance. From Morricone's opening theme through sombre passages drawn
from Bach, Chopin, Orff, Puccini, and Graziosi, the music descends steadily
into darker territory, at times distorted further by unsettling vocal
interventions from the cast.

Dusty Springfield hosted this impromptu TV special to promote the Tamla
Motown artists that were taking part in their first ever opean tour in
1965. Motown sent over their six premier - The Supremes, The Temptations,
The Miracles, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Martha & The Vandellas were all
backed by the Motown house band, The Earl Van Dyke Sextet. Dusty was a huge
Motown fan and was keen to play her part in bringing the acts to a wider
audience. The Beatles and the Stones also went out of their way to give
Motown a mention in their interviews. Remember, Motown had only just
launched its label in ope earlier that year and the artists were known only
to a small number of soul aficionados, so ticket sales for the tour were
very poor. Mary Wilson recalls that the acts referred to it as the ghost
tour, but they all put a performance for this fabulous TV show.

Performed and recorded live by Aaron Funk using only a modular synthesizer,
the album is built without overdubs or edits. Each piece is constructed
from scratch, then dismantled once recorded. Funk focuses on
interchangeable structures and substructures, shaping fluid, "humanised"
rhythms and allowing patches to interrupt and redirect each other into
unexpected progressions. Multiple takes of each composition resulted in
markedly different versions, several of which appear here for the first
time. A key work in Funk's catalogue, Traditional Synthesizer Music
highlights his fascination with modular systems alongside the complex drums
and unusual time signatures that define his output, from breakcore
landmarks to acid experiments as Last Step and collaborations with Hecate,
Joanne Pollock, Daniel Lanois and John Frusciante.

Important! Bent sleeve. Released at the end of the initial period of Wire's
3rd act after Send and before the band's post-Bruce Gilbert re-invention
Read & Burn 03 never quite got the attention it deserved. However the
opening track 23 Years Too Late, with its tour narrative text and motorik
rhythm stands as one of the band's finest achievements of any era in the
view of both core fans & the band (a rare point of agreement!) The original
EP, 3rd in the Read & Burn series and the one not compiled on to the Send
album, was the last non-historic release by the original Wire line up of
Colin Newman, Graham Lewis, Bruce Gilbert & Robert Grey and has never been
properly released on vinyl. The 2026 version brings the original 4 tracks
and adds 3 more.
