Hello All,

I am looking to use munkiserver to help me wrangle a group of 56 macbooks spread throughout 4 locations.
One of my first steps is to control  Apple Software Updates and I know munki does this:

Does munkiserver interface with this feature of the munki tools?
Or am I missing something here?

Thanks

Hi Michael,

Munkiserver doesn't have anything to do with this feature as it's handled/configured on the client side (i.e. ManagedInstalls.plist). Munkiserver mainly modifies how catalogs & clients are organized (i.e. what software they should receive).

This is the same when your Munki server is vanilla Apache/Nginx as well. The client does not contact the Munki server for Apple Software Updates; it contacts an Apple Software Update server --  either Apple's, or yours.
