I have setup a munki server on a Ventura 15.3.1 mac mini. It works fine when the munki_repo is in the Shared Users folder. When I move it to another volume or an SMB share, I always get the Forbidden 403 error. Permissions are all allowed and the links are correct. I do not understand why it is not working. Can anyone help?

This sounds suspiciously like macOS privacy protections preventing apache from reading external volumes and network volumes.

There’s a reason macOS isn’t recommended as a server platform.

I have munki running on an older mac mini with an older Macos in the same configuration. There it works just fine with the  repo on an external drive. I was thinking maybe it has something to do with Macos 13, but I can't seem to find anything about it.

Please do some research on/learning about macOS privacy protections.

You’ll also see this referred to as “PPPC” or “TCC”.

In System Settings/Privacy & Security/ Full Disk Access, you need to add the httpd service located is /usr/sbin/. Then it works with a /volume/...
