Hello World!

I am sorry if this is posted/documented elsewhere, but I cannot seem to find it.
I have setup a munki server and all appears to be working great! I am now needing to create manifests for all computers named with their serial numbers.  I have a template manifest I copy to a new one with the serial number as the filename. My question is how can I bulk import or copy an existing manifest to the files named as the imported serial numbers? Or is there a better way to create and manage each machine? I prefer not having to have the client specify it's manifest, but I want them to use the default method of searching the server for the manifest. Does that make sense? ;-)

I appreciate any feedback.
Daniel

If they are all going to be the same, you should just use the site_default manifest which is automatically requested.

You might want to check out munki-enroll or one of its forks:

I have a simple solution for that:

Not documented, but it just takes a CSV file full of serial numbers (no header row) and creates a manifest for each by copying a template (helpfully called "Template" in your munki/manifests folder).

You might need to tune it if your Munki repo is not available at /Volumes/munki/.

Well, the problem is I have student computers which will be the same, but different from staff. The students will also need to be different betwixt the HS, JH and Elementary, so the site_default will not work...

Worked like a charm! Thanks!
