We have some m1 and they give the following warning when running  managedsoftwareupdate ;

Starting...
Checking for available updates...
    Preventing idle sleep
WARNING: Could not process item VLC for optional install. No pkginfo found in catalogs: production

The VLC package has a supported architecture requirements. (x86_x64)
On intel macs managedsoftwareupdate doesn't give this warning.

Any hints on how to resolve this warning ?

I  have had the same error. In my brief searching it seams that VLC does not have a universal App. As so the supported requirement is not allowing the intel version to be install on the M1.

Are you importing the app using a auto package recipe? I am are so you could look at seeing if there is a M1 ( arm64) recipe. I will check our system once I am back in the new year.

You could also try to remove the requirement but this would need to be tested.

Yes i'm importing it via autopkg.
Maybe I can create a recipe for the m1 version, but I don't think I can have the same name for 2 different packages so it will still throw a warning ?

Three resolutions:

1) Remove the supported_architectures array
2) Add arm64 to the array
3) import a VLC item with a supported_architectures of [“arm64”]
