Quitting Dropbox, iMazing Mini etc

There are many background apps that could be quit and restarted automatically, without user intervention. Such as Dropbox, iMazing mini, Alfred etc. Is it just a matter of adding a pre-install and post-install script to quit then re-launch the app usually?

That seems a valid approach, though starting the background app back up in the correct user context might be tricky.
