MSC Gui Customisation - Help please

I am trying to change a previously customised GUI for Managed Software Center.

I have changed the link addresses in the Top bar (where the categories reside) to reflect changes within our organisation.
and have tried with no luck to deploy my changes.

I am not 100% sure whether i have to then recompile or re-package the app, or whether the 
thing should pick up the changed when it does its initial inventory/catalog/manifest scan.

Any clues to get me started on the right road would be gratefully accepted.

Thank you Mikesolin - This showed me WHERE i was going wrong.
By using compress, it doubled the enclosing folder as well, whereas zip only makes One directory.

So it could never find it.
I was assuming compress had the same behaviour
