Hi all, I've been adding descriptions to all software distributed by Munki and would like to add external URL's. These would ideally point to the software developers website and YouTube for tutorials. I've managed to add ahref to the description, and in MSC the link appears to be active (please see below).

Regrettably when a user clicks on it nothing happens. Right clicking to reveal 'open link' and 'open link in new window' also do nothing. When copying the link the following is displayed: file:///Users/administrator/Library/Caches/com.googlecode.munki.ManagedSoftwareCenter/html/“http://www.makehuman.org

Do any of you know how to resolve this? I've been trying to work it out but have been beat!

Thanks in advance, Chris

Please can you post the exact contents of the description string from the pkginfo file in question? Everything including the <string></string> tags.

Sure can Ben, and thanks for your assistance with this. I've been using MunkiAdmin for most of it. Here's a screenshot of it:

And here's the contents of the description key:

<key>description</key>
<string>Makehuman is an open source 3D computer graphics software middleware designed for the prototyping of photo realistic humanoids. It is developed by a community of programmers, artists, and academics interested in 3D modeling of characters.
The software can be used to create realistic 3d humans for:

Illustrations

Animations

Games

Zbrush/Mudbox sculpting

Turn off "Use smart quotes and dashes" in System Preferences > Keyboard > Text and then delete and type in your URLs to Munkiadmin again. I think the problem is smart quotes are confusing the link creation.

Hi Ben, I would NEVER have figured that out but it definitely seems to have done the trick! All is working with the links now, and it's also resolved an issue I had with images not displaying in the software description. Thank you so much!
