Morning All,

We've had a handful users report they are unable to use the MSC this morning due to receiving an error, they get Update Check Failed.

No new updates have been sent out, just reported it was working the night before and now it's not.

95% of the all the other Mac's are working as expected, any quick solutions to resolve this for them ?

Kind Regards

James

Did you update the Munki tools overnight? This generally indicates one or more of the launchds isn't running. A reboot will most likely fix it.

Thanks both for the reply.

No new client has gone out and it only effecting a small number of users.

The error log displays an issue contacting the specified hostname but its up and the device can access the repo with a browser.

These devices are in the same container as other devices which are working perfectly normal, and other other strange thing is if you run it from a terminal session it pulls down any outstanding updates just not from the GUI.

_Munkireport_ is giving you the error about the specified hostname.

Guessing then that the (Munkireport) Munki preflight is exiting non-zero, which causes the Munki session to be skipped.

(In the future: log files are text. Copying and pasting text is preferable and more useful than copying and pasting a _picture_ of the text)

You should look into updating your MunkiReport installation - all of that stuff was removed from the preflight/postflight scripts entirely.

Thanks for all the advice.

We've updated MunkiReport to the latest version and pushed out the latest Munki client, we are back in business.

Just for anyone else reading this before installing the latest client we had a pre-script to remove the existing so it was a fresh final install.
