ERROR: manifest returned for client_manifest is invalid.

How might this message have been improved to help you discover the problem faster?

I recall thinking when I first encountered this message that it could have been improved by having client_manifest replaced by the actual manifest URI that munki was having trouble with. But then I found that the -v flag ended up displaying exactly that and more.

Yeah, first step when troubleshooting Munki issues is to run managedsoftwareupdate -v or -vv or -vvv or -vvvv

The detail at -vvv and -vvvv can be overwhelming, though.
