I occasionally get this error via munki. Does anyone have any thoughts on what might cause this?

Thanks

I can't say I've ever seen anything like this.

I do wonder if maybe another instance of Apple's softwareupdate was running at the same time?

Do you get these error reports from a reporting script, or have you seen this error while running managedsoftwareupdate via command line?

It appears from the munki postscript that we use which is the one from the wiki page. It happens off of an automated run. We almost never see it happen multiple times (ie: every hour).

We have set the Software Update Preference Pane to not auto check (although I don't trust that its not). This message occurred in the middle of the night, when the building is locked, so the chance that someone was manually running it is quite small.

You still might check /var/log/install.log for evidence that softwareupdate was running at that time.
