managed_updates with optional_installs not updating

Hi,

From the munki wiki at: https://github.com/munki/munki/wiki/Manifests

I presumed the items that are listed in managed_updates will get updated, whatever the method used for installing it on the client.

It seems that if user has installed the item from optional_installs then it will not be forcefully updated even if the item is listed on the client manifest's managed_updates.

Updates are seen as optionals in MSC updates listing but not as forced.

I think that if the item is listed in managed_updates it should be "forcefully" updated whatever the initial install method was.

Munki 5.3.0.4335 on M1 Big Sur 11.3.0.

If an item is an optional install, and a user installs it, MSC treats it like a managed install, so optional "updates" are managed. This is correct and existing behavior. Managed updates only apply to packages that the user has not installed via MSC.

If you open MSC, you will see them if there are pending updates. Only managed installs are 'invisible" in MSC (because the user can't do anything about them).

If you want installs to be managed, you need to make them managed installs.

...and it was just my error with missing included manifests. I can verify that managed_updates works as documented, with optionally installed items too.
