The National Law School of India University, Bangalore is proud to
announce that the registrations are now open for the 2nd National Law
School Model United Nations to be conducted from the 17th to the 19th
of December 2010. This year's MUN promises to be bigger and better
that its inaugural edition and seeks your cooperation and
participation in the same.



This edition of the NLSMUN shall consist of five committees namely:



1. General Assembly

2. Human Rights Council

3. Security Council

4. Joint Crisis Committee

5. War Crimes Tribunal for Sri Lanka

The registration deadlines are as follows:
Executive Board and the International Press applications - 6th
November, 2010.
Priority Registration for delegates- 1st November, 2010
Last Date for delegate registration- 1st December, 2010

delegations are not limited by number but because the committees are
less in number, they will be allotted different countries.
Applications for chair closed at midnight tonight.
But we will be very happy to have you guys as delegates.
I will appreciate it if you can spread the word.

Update on the NLS MUN-

Registrations for delegates are suspended currently due to an excess of applicants... They apparently wanted 300 delegates, and have already gotten 400+.. Apparently, their registrations re-open on the 5th of December. Don't know how much good that will do, considering that they already have more than they need. Also, country preferences are going to be tough.

I spoke to Vrinda Bhandari, and she said ,"Just send me an email that you want to participate as delegate, and i'll try to allot some country to you". That means two things-
a) Country preferences are meaningless...
b) Lesser mortals ( or lesser experienced mortals) perhaps dont stand a chance of getting any sort of country ( She told me this after i had already mailed her my previous MUN experience and spoken to her about participating as delegate)..


There's international participation in the MUN. However, their PR team seemingly takes a long time getting back to people. In case any of you drop them a mail, be sure to follow it up with a call...

Apologies.
Registrations will open depending on how many confirmations we get on
the first set of allocations.
Now, I know I'm making an excuse here, but I'm genuinely telling you
guys that we have projects due on the 25th. As a result, no one can
respond o you guys. The MUN board has 4 operational members and it
really is impossible for them to handle all this themselves. We are
all genuinely really sorry for the late replies. But we won't be able
to be responsive till the 25th. After that, we promise everyone
callbacks.
About allotment,
There are 2 spots open on HRC, 2 small countries open on the GA and 1
spot on the security council.
I have personal discretion for the 2 GA spots.
What can be done now, is that anyone interested in any of these spots
should send me their applications on niyatig...@gmail.com
I'll figure it out and get back to you guys as soon as possible.
Sorry for the poor PR again.
The MUN looks extremely promising going by the applications we've gotten so far.
I, being the only one here from Bombay, really want to see more of you
there because right now we have massive amounts of applications from
Chennai, Pune and ex-DU people.

Sorry, I meant HRC spots.
Also, please be rest assured that the spots will be given out on merit.
