Dear Prospective Delegate,
Model United Nations is an academic simulation of the United Nations
that aims to educate participants about civics, current events,
effective communication, globalization and multilateral diplomacy. In
standard Model UN, students take on roles as diplomats and participate
in a simulated session of an intergovernmental organization (IGO).
Participants research a country, take on roles as diplomats,
investigate international issues, debate, deliberate, consult, and
then develop solutions to world problems.
Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute will be hosting the VJTI
Model United Nations on as a part of its cultural festival, Pratibimb.
It is with great pleasure that I extend to you an invitation to
participate in this installment of the VJTI-MUN.
Having been the first engineering college in the city to have
organized a MUN, VJTI is well known for having taking a pioneering
position. With the latest installment, it promises to continue along
the same path with a wider and more comprehensive discussion with new,
exciting and unconventional challenges, captivating crises and prizes
that far exceed by value those given last year.
Rules
1. Each team will consist of a single individual.
2. The MUN is a single day event and will consist of the General
Assembly. The topic is reform of the United Nations Security
council(unsc).
3. There is no registration fee.
4. Countries will be allotted on the basis of previous MUN experience
and/or the position papers submitted.
