Model
United Nations is one of the most exhilarating forms of debating
wherein a participant takes on the role of a delegate of a particular
country and battles against others to resolve international issues.
BITSMUN'11, organised by the BITSMUN Society, BITS-Pilani, is set to retain its tag of being the biggest MUN in the country and one of the largest youth conferences of Asia. With 8 different councils and an expected participation of over 800 delegates from prestigious institutes all over the world, the third edition shall reaffirm its dominance as the premier MUN conference in the subcontinent.
Just like its previous edition, BITSMUN'11 continues to offer the highest prize money (over INR 3,00,000 or USD 6500). With participation expected from over twenty nations, the summit will be truly a global affair.
The following councils will be simulated in BITSMUN '11:
1) UNGA
2) ECOSOC
3) G-20
4) UNESCO
5) UNHRC
6) DISEC
7) International Criminal Court
8) League of Nations
BITSMUN'11 will also host a Nobel Laureates Conclave, showcasing some of the best speakers from several countries; a World Fest, which will feature the different ethnic traditions and culture of different communities; and an Education fest, which provides them with a prospect to gain knowledge about different career paths that they can choose in leading universities across the world. Also, a Rock Night has been planned for the delegates.
