Hello Vilpesh,

I dont know any individual or institute teaching python.

But you can learn it from http://learnpythonthehardway.org/book/

This is the best resource to learn and many of us are learning from here only.

You can post your doubts, queries to this group, and will love to help you.
On the backchannel we are also planning to setup a "study group" in some time.

Happy Learning !!!

I am not sure of any institutes, however I also doubt if there are any.
But, there are a lot of online resources:
Also, some very good books for beginners are: Head First Python and Head First Programming. You can then read Learning Python and Programming Python, which offer in-depth coverage of the language. And the Python Essential Reference by David Beazley is always a good book to have.

Happy learning !

I don't think one needs a teacher to learn python. It's one of those languages where you need to get your hands dirty and start by coding off some examples. All you need is:
(a) A python compiler. IDLE is best for beginners IMHO.
(b) Python Documentation: http://docs.python.org/ and the beginner's tutorial: http://docs.python.org/tutorial/

However, if you really REALLY want a quick intro to python, then the following might be of interest to you:
- A couple of books by Hetland are also useful in this regard.

I have taken Python Training Sessions at Mumbai and Bangalore for corporates. When I was freelancing. My suggestion is that you can seek people who are freelancing for 3-4+ years for training i.e. if you are looking for corporate training. If it's personal one to one training I doubt the monetary aspects of such a training is easily workable.

Ankur

To add to the list of resources,

- Python Challenge - http://www.pythonchallenge.com/

- MIT Open courseware has comp science lecture videos on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6U-i4gXkLM

- Khan academy also has comp science videos using python http://www.khanacademy.org/?video=python-lists#computer-science .

- To someone who has previous experience with any other programming language, I would recommend this book named "Core Python Programming"  by Wesley Chun http://www.flipkart.com/books/8131711889

The only resource that I would recommend is Dive into Python.
Its a small book which will get you up and running with python in no time (It took me 2 days).

I second the recommendation for Dive Into Python, but it's not a book
for beginners: try it only if you have programmed in some other
language for a year or so.
