1) You have to hate cars and everybody who owns a car (except yourself you need it).

2) Mention obscure names of some city from South America as ideal transport cities.

3) Claim BRTS will solve all transport problems for ever.

4) Oppose Spending money on actual infrastructure as it is considered waste of time and money.

5) Claim everybody can walk or cycle for  everything.

Congratulation!!!
You are now a Transport Expert

Regards

Abhijit Mehta

A successful city has a public transport system that is easy to use, an unsuccessful city tries to ban cars.

Sarcasm won't hide the fact that without being able to disconnect from Car Oriented  thinking and accepting "sustainable" options, urban transport problems will get worse by the year. Ridiculing people for quoting examples from other countries is equally pointless  as pro car concepts such as flyovers, multistory parking etc are also not exactly "Indian" either. Finally personal attacks don't prove your logic is correct.

Abhijit,
Have you just described yourself.. cause going by your past emails I have realised that you seem to be extremely cynical about the idea of BRTS and if BRT is an actual solution. another question - Have you ever been to any of the south american cities specifically Curitiba or Bogota.. if not then I suggest you go and see how things work.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion but that doesn't make that person an expert. These are my personal views and not the organisation that I represent.
I don't own a personal vehicle, completely recommend BRT can solve Mumbai's transport problems to a large extent, walking and cycling for short distances, I have just suggested name of 2 cities in South America as an example and oppose wasting money on what you call actual infrastructure which is I guess flyover, metro, mono rail etc..

Does that make me a transport expert.. Great..

PS. Abhijit don't take this personally.
