SUB: Support to Election Commission of India, for the Lok Sabha Elections 2019 –
Role and Responsibilities of Co-operative Housing Societies (CHSs)
Please find per attachments a formal letter addressed to yourselves and the poster with information for display.
As per Section 79A of the Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act, 1960 vide Government Circular in Co-operation Department No. SGY 2009/C.R. 235/14-S dated 19th April 2010, all BLOs (Booth level Officers) are to be given voluntary support by the “Office Bearers” of Co-operative Housing Societies. The Office Bearers of the CHSs are, therefore required to assist the Election Commission in their task, as maybe required.
You may refer to the Election 2019 page on our web portal www.togethervcan.in where all necessary information and links to details, as well as the links to the website of the Chief Electoral Officer - Maharashtra (www.ceo.maharashtra.gov.in) and Mumbai City District are provided.
Please convey to all concerned that having a Voter ID card does not allow the person to vote unless his/her name appears in the Electoral Roll.
