Dear mumax community,

We are happy to announce the release of mumax 3.11, which includes various features contributed by the community over the past few years.

The most notable new features are:
  • Hopf index calculations (contributed by Ross Knapman).
  • Several new options for moving windows.
  • Constructing nanoflowers using the Voronoi tessellation.
  • Loading time-dependent functions from csv files, or geometries from ovf files.
  • Many bugfixes  most notably fixing an incorrect equation for the magnetoelastic field (as reported by Marc Rovirola).
  • Support for the newest GPUs.
The full changelog listing all new functions, parameters and bugfixes can be consulted on GitHub.
Windows and Linux binaries can be downloaded from the mumax³ download page.

Community contributors to this release are Ross Knapman, João Sampaio, Artem Bondarenko, Marc Rovirola, Roland Mas and @gnmp. We also thank everyone who contributed GPU benchmarks.

Finally, as with any new software release, you might experience bugs. Please feel free to report them so we can fix any issues that might occur.

Have fun,
The mumax team.

Dear mumax community,

The minor patch 3.11.1 has now been released, which solves a couple of bugs.
Most importantly, a bug that appeared in mumax3.10 has now been fixed, which erroneously caused regions with Msat=0 to influence other regions through the exchange interaction.

Further details can be consulted on GitHub.

Best regards,
The mumax team.
