NVIDIA GeForce MX330 GDDR5 graphic card for Mumax3

Hi all,

 I am new to working with the software and would like to get informed before buying any laptop. I want to buy HP ENVY x360 15-ED0047 - B with NVIDIA GeForce MX330 GDDR5graphic card, for Mumax3. Is it good for Mumax3?  If not, any alternative (about the same price and design)?

In general, for run simulation on Mumax3, which GUPs are really powerful?

Mumax3 simulation is based on cuda cores ! I used to have a laptop with mx920 and 250cuda cores but it was a slow ! Now I am using a desktop with the Nvidia gtx 1660 6gb and 1400cuda cores and it is more reliable . I think your graphics is about 350cuda cores. Search for a laptop with 1660-6gb  or 1650 -4gb alternatively.

hi

first you have to specify simulation size and what material you are going to use. After that you must calculate exchange length. 

as GridSize is bigger you need a better nvidia graphic card. 

If you want to learn, your choice is good.

I am new to working with this software, but based on the research I have done, your laptop is good. Mr. Chris said above that a laptop with 1660-6Gb or 1650-4Gb is suitable.

Mr Kumar, I use an alternative way to run mumax3. First you could download the zip archive from the site of mumax and then you should extract to a folder name as mumax or whatever you like . 

Then you write your mumax code to a txt file.

Last but not least open an run this txt file with the mumax3.exe
