Hello MuMax3 community,

I am simulating a magnetic strip in MuMax3 and forming two domain walls in the strip using excitation. I am trying to calculate the domain wall velocity, but it is showing zero value.

I am not sure why this is happening.

Any suggestions on what might be going wrong would be really helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Could anyone please help me with this?

My recommendation would be to get the raw simulation data (magnetization dynamics saved as OVF files) and postprocess it in a software of your choice, where you can tweak and tune the algorithm, rather than to rely on built-in implementation in mumax. This will be much simpler.

Hi,

The simulation in the provided script is symmetric. After relaxation, the sudden excitation creates a domain wall traveling to the left and one traveling to the right. Functions with "ext_" before them indicate extensions that may make certain assumptions about the system: here, the assumption is that there should be only one domain wall. Indeed, post-processing the script as suggested above will likely form more robust solution for your problem.

Best regards,
Jonathan
