skyrmion topological charge

Hello there,  

I have tried to nucleate skyrmion in the system and when I'm calculating it's topological charge by using "tableAdd(ext_topologicalcharge)", It's value is starting from small negative value initially and when skyrmion is nucleated value is little less than 1. when I have 4 skyrmions in the system it's topogical charge is coming out to be around 3.93. Why is that and how can I fix that?
